Interesting ingenuity. Would be useful for if you do not have the tool but absolutely need to install a nutsert. Since it is the outside of the vehicle you should use grade 8 nutserts and bolts.
I installed this Pioneer Kit in my M1009. Robbed the tools from my HMMWV kit that I don't use any more. Came brand new in the box and was originally designed for a m35. Bolted in and I think it looks stock.
Here's pictures of mine. The TM diagram is the most useful. Because I have a 33" on the spare I have to push the tire into the seat in order to close the tailgate.
Took my CUCV and LMTV to the Coastal Virginia Auto Show in the Virginia Beach Convention Center. They wanted military vehicles there and had us put in the lobby. Several thousand people attend this show. While I was there for a little while today a guy was talking to me about it and called my...
I followed your method and I think it was successful. I'm currently running/testing it to see if it-22 C, it's currently at -5.5 C after 1.5 hours in freeze mode. I've read elsewhere that it can take 4-8 hours to get to temp. Thanks for posting this method Suprman, it's a lot easier than having...
Installed the MIP floor mat from LMC Truck. Disappointed with the process, I think that for the money it should more form fitted than it is. You'd be better off getting something similar from your local home improvements store and cut it out yourself than buying this.
Is your compressor really "on" or does the screen just say "COMP ON"? Mine says "COMP ON" all the time even though I've only heard it kick on once. I'll try your method, easier than removing the whole unit from the box to tap the other side.
I guess suprman got lucky, I vacuumed it down and added freon but the compressor wont kick on. It came on for about 10 seconds then stopped. Next I'll put another piercing valve on the other side and vacuum again.
I just picked one of these coolers up from the recent auction of these on govplanet. Wasn't in the picture but the refrigerant was drained and labeled on the side with a little sticker. Now I get to refill it. I have experience so I'm not super stressed about it. I contacted the manufacturer...
Made progress repainting mine last weekend. Still have to add the camo stripes and lizard skin on the inside this weekend. It's even darker now that it has dried. Originally when the paint went on it looked like Kermit the frog.
Got the tubular brush guard on tonight. Took off the winch plate, drilled, tapped, and centered the brackets to the plate. I found out that the winch hole is not center on the plate at all. I only paid $100 for everything and I still have extra brackets it came with.
