    Glow Plug Relay Voltage

Perhaps voltage supplied affects overall temperature? For example, today the ambient air temperature was around 80 degrees Fahrenheit. If a glow plug is supplied with 14v instead of 10v, it will get more hot. I'm curious if the voltage would increase based on the temperature of the engine and...

    Glow Plug Relay Voltage

Batteries are charged and less than a month old. Has a new starter I installed two months ago, haven't driven it further than around the block while I'm restoring it. Still 24v and staying that way.

    Glow Plug Relay Voltage

I believe there is a problem with my glow plug system. When starting, it takes around two revolutions of the engine before the engine starts. Is this normal? I assume it should act like my HMMWVs and start on the first revolution. Then again, my Ram 2500 takes around two revolutions to start...

    Racal Headsets

I use racals in my LMTV through an intercom and to a PRC-77. The intercom main box connects to the MT-1029 and the individual control boxes set the listen and work radios. For the price of ~$50 on eBay, they're pretty nice units. You can also shoot with them too because they have automatic noise...

"Another" Gen 1 Alternator Light Thread

Turns out BOTH of my gen 1 light bulbs I had were bad from the parts blazer and the one I'm restoring. Popped in the Gen 2 bulb from the parts blazer and the light came on. Now I get to move on to the glow plug system.

"Another" Gen 1 Alternator Light Thread

There is supposed to be a spacer sleeve for the passenger side alternator lower bolt. I do not have one, never did. I had to make my own with shims. How do we know the alternator is bad? The tester at the auto parts store they put the alternator in said it functions fine.

"Another" Gen 1 Alternator Light Thread

Because I have been fighting an alignment issue with the passenger side alt, and it would be an absolute pain to take it off and tr yto put my shims back in place.

"Another" Gen 1 Alternator Light Thread

Before posting, I have read multiple threads on here about others with a similar issue and consulted the TMs. My Gen 1 dash light will not come on. I have a 1985 M1009 Here is what I have done: -Cleaned the heater fuse connection and put in a new 20 amp fuse (4x4 light, low oil light, and...

Seeking TMs and Advice on Nordic ECU Install

I found this posted in another thread by user RumRunner742. He said this is how he wired the same model. I will probably wire mine to a three phase plug or a three phase box.

Seeking TMs and Advice on Nordic ECU Install

I just purchased two 36,000btu Nordic ECUs to cool and heat my motor pool. By my calculations I only need around 60,000btu so 72,000btu will be more than enough. I am powering it off of my MEP-005A so I will have 3 phase. I know how to wire it but I can not find the TM for it online. Does anyone...

MEP-005A Overspeed Switch Testing and/or Replacement

I have a MEP-005A that has a overspeed switch that keeps tripping. The engine is not at high enough RPMs to trip. The TMs do not reference testing an overspeed switch, only the causes that trigger it, which I am having none of. It randomly triggers, but appears to only do it while the engine is...

    Alternator Pulleys

I just got a 1985 M1009 with a 6.2L. The starter and alternators were taken off prior to sale, so I can not re use the old ones. I have read that the driver side uses a DL7157 alternator and the passenger side uses one that has an isolated ground. But I have read a couple posts that the pulley...

    Worthwhile to rebuild starter?

I barely had the time to put in a new starter, I don't have the time to do it myself. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

    Worthwhile to rebuild starter?

I have a MEP-005A generator that I just took the starter out of because it wouldn't engage and replaced it with a functioning one. Is it worthwhile to have the old one rebuilt? Does it crossfit with anything else? I had a quote of around $150 to rebuild it and I just bought a NOS one for $110...

    Installing a 005a

Just yanked this generator off the trailer today and set it up to power my barn. I originally wanted a 10kw but this one came up nearby to me for 1/3 the price of one so I jumped on it. I've done a whole fluids/filter change to it already. Even after yanking it off and dragging it around it...

VIC to Cellphone Adapter and Military Radio Digital Modes Adapter

Hey Augi, just sent you a pm. I would like to purchase one for a VIC-3 system if you are still making them. If you aren't making them any more and someone who already has one would like to sell theirs, let me know too. Thanks!

    Graves Mountain Rally August 30 - September 3, 2018

Looking forward to seeing everyone again this weekend. Had a great time last year and it looks like more people are coming this time. From what friends have told me and off the VA HMMWV group, we should be bringing around seven HMMWVs. Has there been a schedule posted or made yet for the...

Perhaps there will be several junk ones available at Aberdeen next month? I plan on going there on that Friday.
