What are folks here using as replacements for the upper radiator hose on their MEP-803a generators? Flex hose?
I've been considering having a production run of silicone hoses made and would like to establish whether there is sufficient interest in the piece to go ahead with a 100-500 piece...
Yes, I got that too, but it didn't jive with what was posted.

If anyone else runs into a need for this low pressure sensor there is one that is 1psi different and readily available for cheaper.
SM-2B-014F - Nason Pressure Switch 14 PSI F
Google that and it will get you there. It's 14psi...
Thanks! Will do.
There's no problem posting links to parts, there's lots of them in other threads regarding light sockets, bulbs and a myriad of other things.
Why not just post a direct link to where its available?
I tried a search on three different Nason distributor's sites and got no results for SM-2B-014F.
Thanks.
Download and print all the manuals while you're waiting, you will much appreciate having a hard copy in "hard times". You can put them on a thumb drive and bring it to a copy center or do it yourself. I've printed out a couple so far for my set at a cost of about $10 in paper and ink cartridges...
Try spraying/cleaning the voltage pot with some CRC electronics cleaner or other electronics cleaner spray and work it a bit. Stay away from brake cleaners and carb cleaners on these gensets, especially anything that is "chlorinated". They attack plastics and other materials badly.
If that fits your bill of needs, go for it. It is practical, portable and will provide some load for the generator. If you build a distribution box you could plug in multiples to bring the load up to work the generator a little harder.
I'm going with the four 5400w dryer elements for mine. Two...
Although all the vehicles presented for a vote are excellent examples, the Gamma Goat holds a special place in my heart. It is decked out just like those used during my time on the military. Thanks for all the efforts in restoring it, its a great example.
Well back home again with my new(to me) trailer. At the pick up spot I removed the grease caps and the bearings were clean and plenty of grease in them. Inspected the tires and they are/were in excellent shape. The parking brakes were both free and released and the trailer rolled freely when I...
Nice looking trailer! I'd never have guessed it was 7k empty though.
I postponed my recovery/pick up date until Thursday. My 3 3/8ths 8pt spindle socket just arrived minutes ago via the big brown truck and I got my truck tires balanced this morning. Got the tools packed, directions printed...
Thanks, and yes on checking the hubs. If I can find a spot to work on it in the yard(if they will allow it) or nearby, I intend to at least pull the grease caps off and check to see the condition inside them and if necessary I'll add some grease or pack the bearings depending on what they look...
Can't sleep and mind is busy.
Anyone ever thought of adding a simple EGR system to an MEP803a to help mitigate wet stacking? Nothing fancy, just a tube with a stainless ball valve
My thoughts are, plumbing a steel tube maybe 1/2 to 3/4 inch from the muffler near its input and feeding it back...
What about using a block of wood to "gently" tap the top of the pistons and see if it breaks the rust weld? By all things seen, the engine is going to have to be completely torn down, cleaned and parts replaced. Hopefully the cylinder walls are salvageable. Keep us updated. Good pics!!
Thanks for the well wishes! I pull a twin piston, tandem axle steel dump trailer with steel ramps nested underneath it, with this truck and the trailer itself is almost 1000 lbs heavier than the M105A2. The truck feels the dump trailer somewhat with a load in it(usually wood chips or #57 stone)...
