Well it looks like I've got time to get back to working on the Champ since I'm not working on anything else. Before I go pulling the entire brake system apart does anyone have any suggestions on what might be the problem? Here are the specifics:
1) rebuilt master cylinder
2) rebuilt all wheel...
Hope ya’ll get the chance either now or in the fall. As the wife has asthma and I have my own immune system issues I’m staying home for the foreseeable future. Luckily I have plenty of TP and if that runs out there’s a spare cat or two in a pinch.
If someone sees this post and wants to PM you to discuss it, that's just fine. Open discussion on the board just leads to a bunch of "sh*thouse lawyer" replies from people who don't actually know what they're talking about. And just because you were able to get insurance on your vehicle in OR...
Unfortunately there is a big difference between working on a mid-70's to mid-80's civilian vehicle and one of these. On the former you can handle most anything as long as you have fuel, spark, air and some electrical tape to tie things down. On the latter you have so many intertwined systems...
Not really working on the truck at the moment but I got a few accessories to go with the trailer it will be hauled on.
These are Bolt Locks which you set with your vehicle key. Now I’ll just have one key (an obvious one) for the receiver lock, coupler pin lock, a couple of pad locks, and I’ve...
Agree with 98G regarding painting after sandblasting. A good couple of coats of CARC or a sturdy enamel.
BEHR is great for those worried about spraying a multi-formula paint as you simply add some water and maybe a little flow assistance product and you don't have to worry about breathing in a...
Not sure if it was the one in pic #2 of the 1st post but a local friend of mine was flying a P-39 there last year (not his plane but he's a big pilot in the War Bird community).
Almost a year since anything has been done with the Champ. I had it backed out of the shop today to take pics for my new insurance carrier and realized I haven't done squat to the brakes all year. I think it's time to start pulling brake lines and roto-rootering them out to see if maybe that...
Wow, over 5 years since I've added anything to the thread. Not that I've got anything real to add. I started it up today and backed it out of the shop to take some pics for my new insurance carrier. Everything seemed to be working fine sitting in the shop but when I went to stop at the end of...
If you'd like to make it a little easier then just title and register it as a Former Military Vehicle and there's no inspection or weighing ($60 for 5 years). You can then do all of that legally later and switch it over to a regular registration if you wanted to do so. Unless you were planning...
Extremely confusing. If you're selling the 1079 box why not just take what's good off the 1079 for your 1078 and sell the 79? Or better yet, sell both and buy 1 good truck.
While I certainly like many of this months contestants, having seen the work Jim put into his M37 I can't vote for anything else. The attention to detail is amazing and my only complaint is that it's Navy :) (just kidding - GO ARMY!)
