That would be incorrect. The Military Vehicle Owners community is what supports this forum. Maybe be a part of the community before you try telling the COMMUNITY what they are.
If you notice the story in here about my fan clutch imploding (starting at the top of page 70) I'd recommend replacing both while you're at it. The fan I got was found on eBay.
The 40 year mark is coming up pretty quick for the HMMWV. This year actually falls on the 40th anniversary of the 1st prototype by AM General. I was unfortunate enough to be in while we were turning the M151s in to be chopped up. They had to be in running condition with all components just so...
I have had (and seen) several trucks that a newly cut key wouldn't work in but a well used key would. The new key would work in other CUCVs but for some reason certain trucks just wanted a less sharp edged key to start.
Well I believe the WH Express is for sale again (at least it was in the Classifieds a while back). Apparently it has greatly increased in value since I sold it :)
He and I were both a lot younger when that one came out. I was still living in FL at the time and didn't see a hurricane on the Gulf Coast the 6 years I lived there. Now that I'm in TX I'm too far in land to get more than a Tropical Storm and had a few of those the last 16 years.
The axles are your limiting factor for speed. New pumpkins can be swapped in but they're getting harder to find and expensive to swap.
I bought a 2008 F350 off Truck Planet (part of the same group as GovPlanet) 4x4, diesel, but single rear wheels - $6500. Cheaper tow vehicle than a LMTV>
Not that it's necessarily your noise but check the fan belts. I lost the engine on my Goat letting someone else drive when 1 belt gave out and took the 2nd with it and overheated things frying the motor.
That's pretty cool. Is theirs a M1078 with custom box or a modified M1079? My wife loves their coffee but I don't drink the stuff so she'll just have to be the sole member of our household supporting them.
Before I replaced the CTIS controller I simply aired all the tires up to 75psi. Since I wasn't doing any offroading I left them there and it rode great on the highway. Of course after I replaced the controller it automatically aired them down and I didn't bother coming up with a fix.
I spoke with a friend in the War Bird circles. He said they're going to have issues on the transit getting refueled in Greenland and Iceland. Greenland doesn't have on base fuel storage and only one truck so they'll be able to fill 2 of the 3 planes in each group before leaving to refill the...
You might want to just head straight up from work as you'd make it through Austin before the rush started and then could get more sleep. If not, I don't want to leave at 0430 so drive reeeeeeeaaaalll slow coming to my place.
Sorry you can't make it Tim. Tell Colton we'll miss him as well...
We can coordinate a convoy if you want. I plan on leaving early enough to be there noonish and will be going via Burnet then across to 35 to miss Austin. I'd prefer not dealing Austonian (Austinian?) drivers while pulling the trailer.
Actually the Air Show is May 3-5. You might ask a moderator to correct the thread title.
Lone Star MVPA will be there with an impressive display of vehicles and accessories.
(MOD NOTE: Thread Title Show Dated CORRECTED)
