beach run...
What?!?! Beach Run... (ears perk up and tail bushes)
I am game. Can't beat Matagorda for the get-away. Can't beat Surfside for the show. Of course you can drive/camp on both of them.

Anyone of you custom builders thought about converting your wedge air brakes to any of the new air disc brakes on commercial trucks?
They make 19.5, 22.5 and 24.5 versions. May be an interesting upgrade to do the the new set of axles I am putting under the M923 before they go under...
Justin...
oh yea...
One more thing. For those of us that don't have HMMWVs the fuel can holders fit on the outside of an M105 trailer bed!

I also have some fuel can racks that hold 6 MFCs. They company that makes them wants $750ea!!! I don't...
Gypsy Rack - GRS-02-S
I also have some HMMWV tire carriers and brush guards. The brush guards fit on the deuce nicely...

Thanks Adam
I agree. Lock out hubs are great. Any word on the 5 ton hubs?
I had a good laugh with one of the bobbers when I backed it into the shop with the front hubs unlocked. The concrete floor was a bit wet and the ~1" lip at the entrance was enough to hang the front tires and make the...
need that too...
Yup, need two of those too. Spring of box does not matter. Just 2 complete drivers seats that are ready to bolt in.

Ha...
Ha! Thanks to you both. I will look forward to hearing from him.
Any info on the guy in Bastrop would be appreciated. My guy is ready to buy... our mutual friend just bought an M-114 and he can't stand it. We go pick up the 114 tomorrow. It will be a first recovery for the 5 ton ESP...
Anyone have a Ferret near Houston or Dallas? I friend is looking to buy but wants to "see" one first. I will be happy to buy any takers a slab of dead cow for their time.

Locks all
Yup, you read it right. Dif lockers AND tandem lock out. You can have all 6 tires pull or just 2 (the middle tandem) with the flip of a few switches.
Can't wait to get a set in a truck. We will have to call out the D-9 if it gets stuck...

Air lockers
AIR LOCKERS baby! The best of both worlds. I have an extra set of FACTORY Rockwell air locking 5 ton axles. They are direct replacements for the 800 series 5 ton trucks. Also, the axle shafts are 1/4" bigger than the shafts in your truck and they have a power divider that...
Winch
I need a winch for the front of a deuce. Everything from the extensions forward. I have thew PTO and shaft. I also need some shear pins.
I have the deuce hitches ready! Made by Torklift in WA. MADE IN THE USA. Rated for Class V+ 20,000. I sent a frame section to Torklift and they...
very nice to drive
The extra room in the cab is a plus. You can fit 3 husky guys with elbow room. The crawl ratio for off road use is compound by the torque converter too.
Replacement parts in your fleet (other 5 tons?) may be easier if you get a M923/925 or an A1 variant. The A2 has a...
luck...
Franz,
I don't believe that there is as much "luck" mixed into the equation as you let on. That is like saying that David Tubb was "lucky" when he cleaned the 600yd string.
Would you care to take a look at what it will take to put one of those in either the M923E3 (3126 Cat) or the...
Come on down
I live just South of Houston and I have several bobbed deuces. You should drop by and drive them to get a feel for what the bigger tires and single rear axle does to the truck. I have a few ideas that may help you.
