    2HN Battery AGM equivalent SNAFU

I'm staying with the lead acid and usually use the big 8D that I get at oreilly, but the set of Excide 6tmf made in 2009 in my 929 all took over 90% (based on open circuit voltage). I put 2 back in the truck and it starts like they are new. I've tried this with Hawkers and they won't hold, but...

MEP-002A Left Connected when Main Power was Restored

You might want to check the contacts on the switch to make sure they didn't burn off... Or maybe the breaker tripped from the reverse feed. Hmmm

A3 rims 395s what bead lock to use?

Stay with the one that fits the 11" wide A3 rim, which was in your 14.5. I think the SS uses a 10", so what comes in the 395 tire is too narrow.

A3 rims 395s what bead lock to use?

Hgun, you definitely use the ones from your old 14.5.....they are for 11 inch A3 rims and measure 10" across. The ones with the 395 likely came from 10" wide rims and would be too narrow.

A3 rims 395s what bead lock to use?

I have several of the 11" bead locks and am wondering the same thing. I don't have the 395 yet but it seems like measuring the bead thickness on the two tires 14.5 and 395 would be a start. I'll go find a 14.5. Edit....I measured the bead on a 14.5 at 1.25" and the beadlock measures 10"...

    16 bay TV antenna

Was on hold ordering more rod and found the 4043 aluminum tig rod has 5% added silicon and the 5356 has 5% added magnesium. Early in this project I wanted the optimum electric conductivity, so I looked at the property of the alloys and found silicon is more of an insulator while magnesium is...

    M813a1 paint job

Nice work! I use green 383 on everything, usually with brush and roller, but if the rust isn't repaired first, it will be back. Red oxide primer will neutralize some rust and lately I'm using rustoleum camouflage that has toluene solvent, so is not water based, yet is flat and the acrylic Behr...

    Recharging Exide 6tmf

Closest Harbor freight is 50 miles. Wish it was closer. I'll find a load tester or take them to oreilly. They are out of the m929a2 that I'm selling. It's the only 5 ton I bought out of 15 that would start under its own power when I got it from government. I've had 2 years with just a couple...

    Recharging Exide 6tmf

I overcame my timidity to turning the charger on 10 amp and leaving it on overnight. I have two that stabilized at 12.82 and two at 12.80. Good enough for now. They were made Nov. 2008, installed in 2009 and look nearly new. Here is the underlying issue. They are in/for the dump truck...

    Recharging Exide 6tmf

WWRD thanks for sharing. This has taken a long time and since I don't leave them on at night due to charger hum, even longer. You seem right on with the time and amps. To anyone reading.... go for the schedule WWRD recommends. It would seem to be the deep charge these monsters need. Of...

5ton dump truck - mud flaps

I run wth mine folded up in half on the 929 but if I want it long, can fold down. I would consider having it shorter and going further up under the bed....just a thought. The entire wheel will get a wrap up and around on my deuce 4x4, but that's fixed, not tilting dumper. I think the OEM...

5ton dump truck - mud flaps

I've used wide rubber belting before. I would like to go to a quarry and buy some pieces (from the boneyard) nice thick, wide ... myself. It's on the list when the bed goes on the deuce....but would work fine on a dump. Here is the challenge.....keeping them from hitting the tire with...

Chelsea PTO (Take-Off) for my M1088

Chucky.... its a cable.....if you are referring to a 939 series. But the one above in my photo is on the A3 Allison 1545. My photo shows the arm on the top of the pto to engage the gears. There is an air shift available too. The direct mount pump will not fit a 939....too close to frame. But...

Chelsea PTO (Take-Off) for my M1088

Is this a 6 bolt pto that attaches to an Allison like a 939 series? I have a couple flange and shaft kits for direct mount pump with the 6 bolt style, so different than driveshaft style, but contains that part .....I think. Have you taken it all apart yet? See the red part. While that is my...

    Recharging Exide 6tmf

Has anyone done magnesium sulfate reconditioning? I'm at 12.7 on these two and would like to see them reach 12.9. I've read both that it shortens battery life but other reports that it can be done several times to reduce the crystalline coating. I read also that debris can accumulate in the...

    Recharging Exide 6tmf

Yes, they are lead acid. No load tester but on these Exide the open circuit voltage is a good indicator....or seemed to be in the past. Hawkers....no. With alternating (battery being charged) most the day on the 2 amp setting, both are holding at around 12.5. The 10 amp setting seems to be...
