I shoot photos for a local newspaper and my warbird addiction started a few years back when I did a video and photo gallery when Madras Maiden came through Cleveland on a tour. I make it a point to go see warbirds every time they come through my area and get their cause into the media.
I've...

Unfortunately looks like 7 fatalities as of now. A Connecticut Air National Guard airman was involved and survived and according...
So what I'm gathering from the news conference is that 13 people were on the B17 at the time of the crash, 3 crew and 10 passengers who paid for flights. The hospital is saying that there are varying degrees of injuries, some in the burn unit and some fatalities. No numbers were put on that but...
I never had the opportunity to see Nine-O-Nine but I did get to fly in Madras Maiden before she was turned into Ye Olde Pub.
News conference is on now, I'll see if I can post an update soon. Meanwhile here is a scree grab from a video on CT news. That NBC Connecticut link in the first post...

Makes sense. I’ll give it a try. Probably won’t get a chance to work on it until later in the week but I’ll let you know how it works out. Thanks

I installed a new proportioning valve and failed at bleeding the brakes. I think I tripped the shuttle valve inside the proportioning valve. Looks like I'm taking stuff back apart later this week to get this junk back on the road.
Probably should be in the hot rodding section but I'll have a stab at an answer. The 6.2 is not a powerhouse and was never designed to be a huge powerhouse. They can be reliable and run a long life if treated well. A lot of guys add turbo kits to them but in that I personally have no experience...
Alright, I swapped in the new valve today. The install went really well until it came time to bleed the system. I'm pretty sure I tripped the shuttle valve because I cannot get my rear brakes to bleed and I have a mushy pedal. I have the Kent-Moore tool (mentioned on here before) that clips onto...
I get what you are saying. Crack the bleeder farthest away from where you were working. I'll give it a shot but I'm fairly certain the valve is damaged. I have one of the tools for clipping onto the shuttle valve to hold the pin in- it won't even go on. It looks like someone hit the head of the...
I ended up ordering that valve. We will see how it works. I really didn’t want to replace it but I can’t get the little thing on the side to reset to bleed the brakes. It actually looks like someone hit that needle with a hammer at some point. I’m going to install it tonight or tomorrow and post...
I'll keep that in mind.
I ordered the metal backed window seals that clip into the door from LMC and was less than satisfied with the fit. I don't remember the manufacturer but they too a ton of manipulation to make them fit. I feel like LMC is a crap shoot sometimes.
Nice. I think you can order from Precision direct, at least you used to be able to. The Truckshop is the one with the orange logo right?

I am a fan of Precision brand weather stripping. I have a few pieces from them and they fit well. Looking forward to getting new door and window seals from them.

I know this has been discussed before on SS but I am curious if anyone has used this valve as a replacement for the original OEM unit. According to JEGS this should fit the bill:

It appears to be correct but can anyone confirm? It looks to be the...
I saw those. Thinking about getting one or two. I have a couple pumps in my parts stash. Should be able to make a few functional backups.
I assume that was an easy swap?

So what is the consensus on the pumps? Are they permanently discontinued or just on a mega long backorder? Kinda thinking I should pick one or two up for spares.
On a related note, there was someone here who posted a link to a speciality tool to install the new seals. I don’t know if you need this, but it’s worth asking.
Hopefully someone knows what I’m talking about.
