That extension is a good thing really. It will allow you to take sharper turns without the worry of damaging your HMMWV or your trailer. Just be careful when walking around the rear of the HMMWV and not watching where you are going. That thing will damage a shin or two in a minute! Ask me how I...
Thanks for the offer. I should have been more patient, but I just decided due to time and effort I would buy the kit, so I ordered one from the Hummer Parts guy. He seemed to have the lowest cost and most reasonable shipping price.
I’m sure I could have fabricated something, but seeing some...
I found something on this in case anyone needs it in the future. I haven’t tried these measurements yet, but assuming they are accurate. Will update this thread later when I get to it.

Does anyone have or know where to find the instructions for creating an access panel for the fuel sending unit. I would prefer to create this access versus dropping the tank.
I think the kits come with instructions but I can build my own access cover for a few dollars, so prefer not to spend...
I had heard stories of people waiting months, but I didn't realize it was service related. I figured it was all from the same government agency. I learn more about this stuff every day. Grateful for this board and its members for how much they have helped me towards getting my two machines up...
This is a touchy subject. I like the idea of buying American, but if I can buy a quality product at a steep discount, I'm probably going with the discount. It's becoming impossible to buy American made any longer, because most everything is manufactured overseas, and that is a terrible thing in...
I bought a HMMWV back in October out of Texas. I had my EUC approved the very same day. I figured it would take weeks from what I was hearing, but no, the same day it was approved. I had the HMMWV sitting in my yard in 3 days from purchase. It did take a couple of months to get the SF97 though...
They look good and are very bright. I haven't even driven at night with them yet, but I've turned them on and they look good and certainly light things up very well. I really like the clear glass of these. Many of the LED headlights are super busy and some are extremely expensive. These are...
Got a chance to wash the HMMWV today, and I took some pics of these headlights. Pics attached. I like the clear glass and clean look of these, as many of the LEDs are very busy looking to me.
Turns out my high idle knob was stuck slightly open. I got it moving and was able to push it in about 1/4 inch further and it idles normally now. It was completely frozen and would not move without a little lube
I haven’t checked it with a gauge yet, but I have one on order and will verify it...
I posted the specs above and it says 12 - 30 Volts. That came right from the listing. I will update this if I have any issues, but I did verify the specs before ordering them.
Any idea what the RPMs should be at idle? I will try the optical tach. I read something about it in a previous thread while searching idle, but never really saw what expected idle might be?
Put about 35 miles on my M1097R1 today. Runs and drives good now. I’ve fixed a lot of small piddling issues on it now. It ran well from day one after putting new batteries in it, but it feels to me it idles a bit high? Is that common for them to idle high or should I try to adjust it?
How...
