So did anyone end up finding a common (non 5 ton) type replacement valve stem for these FMTV wheels in the standard (not Large bore) size? I like Treeguy's way of making the existing ones work, but sometimes the existing ones need to be replaced for various reasons so an "off the shelf"...
I made this modification thanks to your fantastic idea and post. It worked great and was easy to do, the only recommendation I would have is to keep the shock absorber or else you will get launced on a rebound after hitting a bump!
Thats a pretty cool looking shelter. Are they steel or aluminum? I was curious about a couple items on your shelter, what is the bracket assembly on the right (passenger) side of the shelter door for? Also what is that hump thing on the front top Passenger side of the shelter box? Thanks for...
Yes its certainly confusing because not all manufacturers offer different lengths, only some do. I dont think Haltec has multiple lengths. There are quite a few mfgs of these things and often its the smaller mfgs that have more variety. Eitherway, let us know what you use for the remainder of...
I'm not sure. I dont know if I've ever actually seen a S250, and I dont know anything about them (steel or aluminum?). The CBC is nice and made specifically for the 105 trailer, but it is fiberglass which has its pros and cons. They are also rare which kind of stinks since that makes them both...
Here are some pics of the trailer racking as well. We use the trailer quite a bit for keeping our camping stuff in so we arent always going into and out of the Truck for paper towels, a spatula, flashlight or whatever. We also cook off of the tailgate when we use a campstove since its a good...
Thanks Bjorn. I was wondering where you installed this magnetic filter setup, perhaps it was listed somewhere in the threads but I didnt run across it. Did you just put it inline after the in tank pump or after the final filter and before the IP? Thanks, Aaron
I wonder if there is a easy way to mount something over the end of your stems. What size thread is that? 1/8npt,1/4 npt?
Otherwise you can just start from scratch like DatGuyC mentioned. You can either go with standard valve stems or the large bores. I can help you source the right ones if...
Besides some of the things recently done in the last couple posts and some posts to come, I also have been working on a project just for my kids.
My wife has been wanting a playhouse for the kids for sometime. While I was at Scott's house (Tie6044) one day checking out some deuce parts, he...
I also found a source for some more affordable large bore gauge chucks and inflator gauges so I modified the GLAD HAND air hose setup that came with my truck so it now has a large bore inflator gauge on the end of it (No pictures of the finished glad hand system, but the last 2 pics are of the...
Well its been a while since I updated anything. I have been doing some work however so the next couple posts should show some of whats been happening.
Back in post 25, I mentioned I would be building a waste motor oil filter setup out of the deuce's old filters since I changed them to spin-ons...
Well I added another napa/wix 4770 filter base and a 2 micron Baldwin filter (BF7587) to the end of my initial setup. I think I'll call this good for now once I rearrange everything on the mounting panel so it doesnt hang way off the end.
So there are a total of 4 filters now, the first filter...
Highjack away, this thread served its purpose for me. I added a 2micron filter to the end of my setup and am done now. I'll be following your soon to come centrifuge post though, and I suspect many others will to.
Here is link to a post on my MRAP adapter classified add that has lots of the tire wandering/oversteer fixes consolidated... it should help: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?110087-MRAP-ADAPTER-PLATES-Fits-10-Lug-MRAP-Wheels-to-Deuce&p=1388909&viewfull=1#post1388909
My airomatic drag link was sticking so it would leak air once it reached about 60 psi or whatever the safety shutoff valve I set for. You could hear it leaking though. I assume you haven't heard any leaks though?
Thanks for all the info!
Regarding the pump pressure question, I bought a rebuilt pump off ebay. I told them my intended use and they built it to match. Its built for 100gph, florocarbon seals, and they set the adjustable internal bypass to 170 psi which I realize is too high now so I just...
Yes, I agree. I did put the suction pipe probably 6-8" from the bottom of the barrel. I just wish I would have thought about the drain valve on the bottom before I started filling it:)
Question: Does the wmo need to be blended/cut with diesel for filtering or can I just add 5 gallons of the...
