Patracy, I do understand that I have to change out the transfer case. My sprag has been acting up a little and that is why I am goint to convert it to an air shift.
Congratulations on your new truck, I really like your m48 as well. You are going to be amazed at how much better a five ton does in the sand. I will be at the lake this weekend, so hopefully I will see you around and my name is Ferrell. If you ever are looking to put super singles on you...
Yeah I have noticed a few trucks without an EUC. I have also had a truck before with an euc that hadn't cleared yet and they let me pick it up anyways. Is your m48 the solid green one at Elephant Butte?
CALVIN3103 I am not sure about the multi fuel five tons, but my M923A1 does not have an intake fuel pump like my duece does. You might need to prime the fuel system to get it to start. Thats how I do it on my tractor and my trucks.
I have both, a duece and a M923. I prefer the duece over the M923 most days with two exceptions. I love the power steering and the WOW factor of how big it is. If you can afford to have both trucks I would definately have one of each!!
I will restate what every one else has. Its a diesel, not a multifuel. I run my duece on 90% used motor oil and my M923A1 on straight diesel with Lucas addaitive. Treat it like we treat our diesel pickups!
I will try and get you some pics of it if I didn't delete them. I use the zipper boots since I seem to have to replace them twice a year anyways. I silicone the heck out of them where they meet the axle and then use rtv gasket on the outside of the zipper since it is stretches better and won't...
Well yesterday I got to spend a good amount of time in the water. I had it up to the top of the tires (395's) and drove it around more today and checked fluids. As I expected there was absolutely no contamination. Once I get it routed up higher I will try it to the top of the hood and go...
If the trucks are made and fully capable of going through deep water, why do so many people discourage it? I blew axle seals just getting them wet. That is why I am plumbing their vents and such up high and adding pressure to the system to prevent problems. Why would people not take them deep?
I will keep the pictures coming of the additional things I add on and how I can figure to pressurize the system. Can't wait to send pictures of it deep in the water!
