Yeah, I connected the air compressor to the back of the air box. I used 1 inch heater hose from Napa and a couple hose clamps. The axles, t case, and transmission are routed to the red filter but are getting rerouted to the top of the snorkel. I hope I don't need scuba gearr but can't wait to...
Ok, here are a few pictures of what I have accomplished so far. I had the snorkel made yesterday. The axle vents, transmission, and t case have been vented to the fire wall (but now I am going to take it to the top of the snorkel). Also I ran the compressor over to the air box. I still have...
I have a M923A1 and really like the truck (except how much fuel it burns)! I am definately going to buy the next nice M936A2 truck that is close enough to me, as long as it isn't outrageous in price. I want one!!
All I am getting at is leave the engine that is in the truck, I just don't think that puttin in a cummins from looking at my multiple friends failures is a good idea.
I will add some pictures tomorrw of all the things I have done. I am aslo going to pressurize the central vent system with 1psi hopefully by the end of the week and will continue adding pictures.
No, the trucks that multiple friends had were the 5.9's. All of them were 2006 and older. Two other guys I know have had to put in new 6.7's also on their newer trucks.
What can be done with the crankcase breather? Do I need to route it up higher or tie it in witht the air system or is it a concern? It comes from the top of the valve cover and comes down by the turbo.
I would never put a cummins 5.9 in a truck, still not sure why dodge kept it so long after they switched to the 24 valve. The 12 valves are great engines, one at a ranch I worked at had 820,000 miles on it. I have many friends who drive trucks with the 5.9 24 valve in it and numerous of them...
I just added the hose from the compressor to the air cleaner box this afternoon. I used 1 inch heater hose and a couple of clamps. I am that much closer to getting the duece underwater!!
I am glad to see the rims went to good use. Those tires are huge compared to my 395's!! Truck looks awesome!!! I am going to take a look at the 16.00's this week finally. I will send you some pictures and info if still interested.
Ok, so I have done my research with previous home made fording kits and actual surplus ones. I just want to make sure that I have covered every aspect to take my truck in deep water. I started out with new axle boots and silicon to make them water proof. I then added the central vent system...
