Actually being in the diesel performance businuess myself we are after dropping the CR to make the motors more reliable at higher RPM and Cylinder Pressures. A race built Duramax or Cummins would not be high compression.
Common Rail diesels have began to excel at burning waste oils. Durmax and...
It is a 12V electirc, unit out of a topkick. Dump time depends on load fully laden I would say anywhere from 15-30 seconds but I have never timed it.
I postioned the hoist a bit forward to help the hydro get past its break over. I tryed it toward the rear of the truck but the flex in the bed...
Nice find, they are much more refined than the CUCV of past.
My question is what branch used these?? I have never seen them here in KS on Ft Riley or the local armories, just curious why?
What the pic don't show is the finished product. I cut down his tool rack on the driver side so the truck could dump with all the tools in the rack. It is NOT functional as the tools are permanent but it loos more original. The truck recieved a full repaint top to bottom and a hard top.
Me and my dad did the mods in my shop, I am welder fabricator by trade so it was a blast taking on this project. We built for our buddy who owns a car lot here in Topeka, we buy all our cars and trucks from him. He is selling this truck right now, and we are going to start an A3 for him with a...

Also here is the dump we built last year. Robbed the hoist from a chevy dump and fabbed the hinge paltes and pin. Works pretty dang good
You could change the impeller wheel to a more aggressive design more suitable for gas application, but... that would cost money and a used turbo for a gas application can be had for close to the same $$$.
I've been thinking of doing twin whistlers on my Duece with a custom intake, not sure if...
Very clean 1009 looks great noce restoration, only thing I see is the lower dash needs to be sand also:mrgreen:.
As for your boot issue are you talking about the boot on the axles knuckel? Or a steering component boot?
sorry just reread your post... On the boot if you can take a couple zip...
I'm pretty sure Dad has all the info on it, but I will ask him next time we talk.
There is a detective in the Topeka Police Department who has spoke with dad about joining up, I'm not sure on his name. when things calm down a bit for us we will join up for sure:beer:
If he is a member of Rolling Thunder then yes. He has been trying to talk us into joining them, I would say once dad retires again he will have more time and he will be joining up for sure.
109 Vans are not fun to paint, and I would highly reomend you get the Turbo motor, we had a "Dirty Burn" non-turbo and the other was a "Whistler" the performance of the Dirty Burns is pretty low and with that big box on the back wind hurts it pretty good.
If you do your research right on the...
