Well I have not done a thread. I have wanted to I just have not done it I have been taking pics just not loaded into anything but i will I hope soon and i will let you see what I have done. I am really enjoying your thread and a lot of others here on SS.
Skull Crusher. Thanks for the pics you have here on your thread but yes if you can; it would be nice to see some more pics of your old engine. I like what you are doing to keep this truck alive It is a cool looking truck!!
Thanks Skull Crusher!! I would like a few more pics of the take out engine if you have time if not it is ok. I am just curious; at one time I was a diesel mechanic for a Detroit diesel dealer
The intake I have has a glow plug in it and i am thinking about trying to make it work to aid cold starting but i am going to add a block heater so the glow plug probably not needed
Jakelc15 Which timing thread did you post to? I am about to add a turbo to my 250 but I had not planed to change timing right away unless After I thought i needed to.
You might be able to take your engine S/N and CPL #'s from the data plate on the engine and call or go in to the Cummings dealer and have them look it up the o-rings should not be that expensive even from the dealer.
I would go ahead and check the service or TM manual and make sure all your hoses on the brake valve are hooked up correctly. One hose in the wrong spot could cause your problems or at least make your air act weird.
Yes you should have air at the park/ emergency glad hand if you release the trailer brake dash valve if you do not have air there you have some kind of problem.
Most likely they had the brake chambers caged because it made it easier to move unit around the yard without building air. You can check the chambers by taking the service brake line off the chamber and releasing the brakes and see if air comes out the fitting on the chamber which it should not...
Your tractor protection valve should not come into play unless you have the trailer brakes released or the trailer brake button on the dash pushed in. If memory serves me correct. If you are connected to a trailer and releasing its brakes then you could have a leak on the park cylinder inside a...
The best way to find the leak remove the valve cover remove the return line, get a bottle of florescent dye mix up a gallon of fuel with dye install a pump to build some psi in heads you will need to flow some dyed fuel first. (hand pump like the prime pump that is on the truck) pressure up the...
Dont bump it with the starter. (something bad could happen) use a 1 1/4" or 1 5/16" 3/4" drive socket and turn it over on the accessory drive pulley nut. It won't turn over that hard.
Hello
If you have equipment to machine; you could make a plate made with a lip for the liner so it will pass through the hole in the block and use a hydraulic jack and an extension to jack the liner out of the block. This liner will be fairly easy to push out it is NOT like the newer cummins...
