Well it is most likely a crude test but I have tested if your injection holes are open by having fuel in the injector lift the plunger up and let it fall and some fuel will squirt out but it does not let u in on the quality of the holes (like if the holes are washed out) just lets u know they...
I have done this mod to my M931 and it seemed to make the engine idle smoother and gave me 3MPH on a hill compared to before doing the mod. Just for info on the fitting coming out of the emergency shut off valve; I used a #5 o-ring boss plug and drilled and taped to a pipe thread to convert to...
I am with patracy post #20 I would like to know if anyone has found part #'s or if someone could get a supplier and we could buy off of here what we would like on the buttons.
If you had some antifreeze in your air tank (if i remember right you said you had some) it very well could be the air compressor. It is going to be a little difficult to check but first off i would top off cooling sys PSI up the cooling system take the PSI up at least to cap PSI (not much over...
I ran only 2 batteries. plenty of power to crank unless it get real cold but i will be putting a block heater in it soon so that will fix the cold problem. My truck is a M931. I do have some pics but they are not here i will post pics tomorrow.
Yes I did; I used regular truck batteries. The cables are long enough I knocked out the knock outs for cables and i moved the slave cable connection to the tool box as well.
Well it is hard to say why the injector failed it might have had to close a fit for the parts.
Did you have a miss or heavy smoke if you did not have these problems you can use one of the old injectors with new o-rings they most likely were ok or well enough to run longer
Well there could be many reasons for the injector to fail: a slug of water, some dirt, is hard to say it also could be the hold down did not go down square. Are the bolts for the hold downs bolts with nylock on them? They are hard to get even. When I test to see if the injectors are in even i...
On the injector it could be scored plunger or if you had them out an on re-torque it is very important to get the hold down nice and square if you had the injectors out loosen the hold down and see if it frees up. If it is scored and will not move free you will need to replace injector.
On the...
Just like any engine if it is to far overfull the crankshaft whips the oil into a good lather and you get air through the oil system (not good) but if you are doing it only a quart at a time unless you put in a bunch of quarts in you are not to bad off. If you add a quart and it makes a...
Well to me it sounds like to me you did everything you could do for a good install. I am figuring that it is a gasket problem when you take it off inspect the O-ring inserts good. It would be a good idea to put dye in the oil and use a black light if you can.
Yes you are right it almost makes you not want to do something like that!! If the oil is coming out right by a head bolt hole you may be able to or i have heard of this take the bolt out silicone the threads and re-torque. This would be a temp fix but may work. The Cummings head gaskets of old...
