That new grill does look much better than the kit item. The exhaust scoops may be a tiny bit shallow, but they look fine.
I really admire the quality of your work!
Cheers
Mine fit perfectly in the bed of an M1028 (backed in). I'll measure the distance between the wheel wells, and the pertinent parts of the Mule, when I get home this afternoon.
We had to stick a 2x12 under the front wheels to make sure the foot basket didn't scrape on the tailgate when closed...
Pawel, it is a heavy steel cover to protect the steering cylinder and hydraulic hoses. It is 1/8" (about 4mm) thick and bolts to the hull.
It should be on all V100s.
Cheers
Good talking to you today 67B.
This is a pretty good show, lots of really good vehicles, including a V100!! Certainly better attended than Des Moines last year.
Cheers
I will do so!
I think this is my 12th convention. I've missed a few for various reasons.
Hopefully this one will be better than Des Moines. That was a great venue, certainly better than South Bend (I skipped the second one there because of that building) but unfortunately was very poorly...
I agree that doing all that work for something that will likely be invisible is not necessary, and your idea of deep slots will look fine.
I'm away on a trip at the moment, and won't have access to my photo files until early next week. Perhaps Buck can provide the front axle information in the...
67B, I believe we have talked before at conventions.
We SS'ers should put our avatar names on our nametags so we can recognize each other. I've done that in the past and had folks from here say, "Oh, that's you!" (usually in a good way ;)).
Others, we have met and talked, but only...
It definitely has to be seen (and smelled) to be believed, seeing it on TV just doesn't compare to the all-surrounding personal experience. I have been in on the aftermath of several now, and hope not to have to do so again now that I have retired. But if one hits nearby again...
Cheers
I'm going, with Scott aka Reloader64 and Sam aka Pawnshop.
Too far (1300 miles one way) for us to bring any MVs, so we'll just be poking around looking at everything.
It's a longshot, but I'll be looking for an AN/UGC-74B teletype for my M348 command post trailer.
Cheers
The grill that comes with the kit is for a V150, and has the upper extension with the exhausts through it. The grill itself is solid.
Going through my photo files and references, I did not find any USAF M706E2s with the exhaust pipes coming through the upper extension.
I don't recall seeing...
Lonestar MVPA is far from dead, though our website does appear to be down at the moment...
As El Presidente of said organization, I guess I need to look into that ASAP!
By the way, the shorter guy in the picture at the top is me, and I'm 6' tall, gives you an idea of why he is called...
