Maybe a little "over compensation"
I got this from Leroy Diesel. I haven’t installed it yet. It will send more water back to the radiator and less hot coolant back to the water pump. It threads into the top of the water pump. Might not make any difference but I like the idea.Started the fun task of water pump replacement with all new hoses (not shown), now on hold because I stumbled upon the Paradox line kit to aid cooling the rear of the engine so I ordered that. Replaced fan clutch bearings seeing Its already out. I don't want to have to get back in there for awhile. Nice to be able to work on something not complicated with electronic gizmos.
I stuck a 1" wood dowel in the bypass hose and drilled a 5/16 hole in it, it made no difference that I could tell, it did seem like a good idea though.I got this from Leroy Diesel. I was thinking about the extreme heat in Las Vegas and I thought It might help on the hottest days.I stuck a 1" wood dowel in the bypass hose and drilled a 5/16 hole in it, it made no difference that I could tell, it did seem like a good idea though.
I ended up pulling it out and again no difference.
Unless you are over heating I would leave well enough alone.I was thinking about the extreme heat in Las Vegas and I thought It might help on the hottest days.
