Well, I got my clutch installed late last week and I have been enjoying some *very* nice shifting of the transmission, found some things for my truck at work - NOS top, 600 lbs/ft torque wrench, a set of old but good soldering irons and even managed to get a "family" picture of the Deuce and the...
Well, I took a *MUCH* more "butch" approach and welded different end pieces on to my original arms. Let me see if I can find some pictures for you...
Brutal, but, they work quite nicely now. I am using 12" blades that are for the REAR WINDOW of a LOT of small-ish SUVs. I caught a BUNCH of them...
Yeah, I thought about that, as well. I need to see where the pressure bypass valve is on it, and see if it is maybe stuck. The engine bay gets REALLY nasty after a few miles of driving...
Hello, all! I have a headache that I am trying to figure out on my M813. The power steering pump is CONSTANTLY "puking" fluid from the vent, next to the cap, even when it is NOT running. Any ideas? I am in the middle of replacing the throw bearing that went bad, and thought that this also be a...
You can also leave the air built up in the tanks, change the filter (filling the canister up, of course) and use a modified fuel cap that has an air chuck on it, and a hose to "pressurize" the tank, open the bleeder and go from there... Thanks for the help on that, Matt.
Most people make them. Those Military Guys (seem to have "questionable' business practices, at least here) have offered on the went cross cab f/r. You can find info on shelves through the "search" as well.
Not if you have a NON SPRAG transfer case.... Just saying... BOTH my 1970 M813 AND my 1970 Duece have the NON sprag setup and work just fine, thank you. BEFORE you try to get started on my 813, it has the X-case from a 923 stuffed in it.
Man, it must be nice to have trails BIG enough to ride without peeling rocks, bushes and small Jeeps off of the side of the trail when you DO find one big enough to go down. One of the very few complaints that I have with my adopted Kentucky. Looks like it was fun!
Fun times ahead for me, then. I guess that I get to jack it up see what I get. I do believe this truck is a USMC model due to its' number on the hood, tar stuff under the floor and the trans tunnel plates and the galvanized cab. Thoughts?
Huh. NOT the Tractor versions, however? Interesting. A single or maybe dual locker set-up is something that I am wanting for my "Beastie Wagon". My truck is "pretending" to be a cargo version, using a Deuce bed. 74M35A2, PM inbound, if that is okay?
Wait a second... Did you say "rear locker"?
Why, yes, yes you did. I am understanding that there is NO such thing for the 5 tons available. Can you explain further, please?
Well, me and the youngest son (18) got started tearing out stuff so that we can change the clutch in my M813 today. As a "Thank you", he got to drive the M923A1 around the yard a little bit. He was happy, but, cautious about it, like a good kid should be. Yeah, he had me hanging on the side, in...
Thanks! I picked up BOTH the quick valve AND the hose nipple for under $45 at my local Fleet Pride heavy truck place. You can use a small "zip tie" wrapped around the body/groove of the valve to help keep it from moving, as an extra securement. I HATE oil baths...
