Civvy wiper upgrade (arms and blades) - need ideas

i simply squeeze the center "bridge" of the wiper blade together until it firs inside the little folded piece of stainless and then use a small nut and bolt to hold it in place.

    Alternator over voltage

Once again, this place comes to the rescue on time. My alternator has decided that it wants to do the "overcharge dance" recently. Thanks everyone!

Are temp and pressure guages common application?

Actually, your truck is newer than my Deuce OR my 5-ton- they are both 1970 editions. Being old military vehicles, there is no telling when/if/what was factory installed alot of times it seems. I agree though, mechanical gauges are the way to go- especially on critical things like engine temp...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Got my tire break down hammer in. I get to test it this week and see if it was worth the $50 on Amazon....

    XM157 DRAKE 12-Ton, 8x8, Amphibious (Bigger than a Duck)

So *that's* what that thing was that I saw over by Radcliff/ West Point for awhile. I wonder what happened to it?

Are temp and pressure guages common application?

My 813 clone has electrical gauges for everything EXCEPT the air press. It is the sole mechanical gauge. Same on my M35A2, which has lost ground again, it seems.....

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Welp, broke down (ha!) and bought a slide hammer tool for breaking down the tires on the "Beastie Wagon", so that I can get it back in service.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Yeah. Almost the automotive version of that "s" word..... When it left, it did a smoke show from a rolling start. PURE torque, there!

    M818 Transfer Case Upgrade T-138 to T-1138

Also, late info.... the PTO box is NOT a problem with this swap. Mine is still installed and functional. The shifter linkage for the X-case itself, however, is still needing to be constructed. (hopefully, this weekend)

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

1938 Buick street rod with the ORIGINAL straight-8, Solex carb, HEI conversion, lake pipe (yes, single) and a small, but nasty sounding cam in it... It *really* got peoples attention when it pulled in!(Needs a header, but, that would be custom spent $$$$ for that engine!)

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I got an old and rusty drivers side door latch to work again, installed in the truck, and amazingly, NO slamming the door to get it to close AND lock- latches as easy as my wifes' Hondas' doors do! Like, 1 finger to OPEN and CLOSE it easy. I also (finally) got the nos M/C and rebuilt airpack...

    Spicer 5 speed question

Yep. That'd be me truck! Let me give some better light and I will be more than happy to take photos and measurements for you. I can tell you this, right up front- there are plates of steel in between the X-case and the brackets, AND you will have to either re-drill (yeah, not happening) the hole...

    Spicer 5 speed question

Okay, as promised, d/s lengths- front is roughly 61 3/4, and the one from the X-case to the forward rear axle is roughly 32 1/4.

    Spicer 5 speed question

Yeah. He did a pretty solid job of putting the truck together. It ran 70- 75 MPH from Springfield, MO to the farm here in KY, roughly 600 miles and never skipped a beat, unless you count hills- then, the lack of a turbo was very obvious! Thanks for the help for him, and other folks, simp5782. It...

    Spicer 5 speed question

i have this set-up in my XM818, and the X-case is NOT in the original location! It is FORWARD by about 1.5". i believe the reason was something about the length of the rear d/s being the issue. I will call the guy tomorrow and find out find why. I can also get you the d/s lengths tomorrow, after...

    M818 Transfer Case Upgrade T-138 to T-1138

I have this same set up, other than 1400 20 tires in the XM818 that I acquired recently. Outstanding on the interstate- 70 MPH at 2100 RPM, 7- 7.5 mile/gal all day long. (until you hit a hill, and then, the truck falls FLAT on its' face. Turbo time!)

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Today was spent chasing electrical gremlins... and replacing a shattered passenger side window. Didn't know that they are made from laminated glass... and getting ready for this particular arguement....

    Hard top dents and warping

Yep. Mine is dented, holed and just plain ole ABUSED by the idiots that used to use it for a brush fire truck. Some of the smaller dents can be "reset" by applying heat and then cold (low side) of the dent. Larger ones, somewhat this way. I get patch the holes in it from the cable set from the...

    Upgrade to M35A2 personal heater

You can also use old foam style sleep mats and a couple cans of spray adhesive to insulate the cab walls, inside the doors (if you are careful), add some small AGGRESSIVE industrial type Velcro patches to the mats AND the floor for removable floor linings, and it is the same stuff that is used...
