MT654 transmission oil. Change to straight 10W

My oil supplier has this in stock and it is a really good price. Would this fluid work?

How much height adjustment in the GSS seats?

Haven't measured my GSS seat but it goes higher than I would want if I wanted to max it out. I have to lower well below max. My left knee hits the window crank if it is too high. Super comfy seat in an M939. Night and day above the stock seat.

    11r22.5 vs 1400r20

I have an M925A2 pulling an M322 trailer loaded with about 15K on it. I like my 14.00 R20's but they need to be replaced. I will not go to a smaller tire. I need top-end speed over low-end pulling power so I will be going to the 16.00 R20's. You will gain power off the line but will lose 5-7...

    M925a2 running warm

It is definitely the water pump. It is puking coolant out. The good news is that I have a brand new one sitting on the shelf! I will put the new one on Monday. I tried to keep the temp down to 220 but occasionally it would creep up to 230ish. Did I fry anything? The new coolant looks brown...

    M925a2 running warm

My M925A2 is running about 20-30 degrees too warm. Engine temperature is running between 220-230 degrees and Trans temp holds steady at 225. I confirmed the gauge with an IR Temp gun. Upper Radiator hose is down to 195. The fan is working and comes on at 185 degrees and operates normally. Truck...

Using a 5 ton as a towing vehicle?

I run an M925A2 with an M322 trailer towing a 14k tractor regionally. 350 miles one way weekly. Works great! There are a few upgrades I would recommend like an air ride seat but they do work well. I will be in the market for an M931A2 once I get my 15-foot batwing mower. But for what I do...

    All 4 Rear Brakes Dragging

I followed Wes's video. I had air everywhere. But during the process of checking the lines I got air back to the brakes and they released. Not sure what I did but I will take it! I wanted to say thank you for the help! Steel Soldiers is an absolute awesome site with great people.

    All 4 Rear Brakes Dragging

I have air on both lines on drivers side. I also have air from small hose coming out of the bottom tank on passenger side.

    All 4 Rear Brakes Dragging

I will try that. Light for spring brake over ride is not coming on either...... 120 lbs of air on both primary and secondary air systems.

    All 4 Rear Brakes Dragging

I was going down the road and thought I smelled brakes. I pulled over to check. All 4 rear brakes are dragging to the point of smoking. Stuck on the side of the road to let them cool. I pushed in the override button but not sure if it is helping. What would cause them to all of a sudden stop...

    Oil types M939A1

I run marathon Elite 15W40 conventional oil in the truck. I get it from my fuel supplier. Great stuff and it is only about $50 for 5 gallons. I change the oil every 10,000 miles as per the Cummins manual. I spoke extensively with my fuel supplier and they have spoken to the actual chemist...

    D.O.T Weight scales.

I cross Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan State lines. I never stop and they never even look at me.

Suspension Seat for 5 ton M939A2 - Low cost skidsteer seating?

I got the seat from 98G. Great looking GSS seat! Thank you! Does anyone have Marine proof instructions for tapping the air system?

Suspension Seat for 5 ton M939A2 - Low cost skidsteer seating?

Old thread-yes, I researched first before starting a new thread...... At the start of my 600 mile round trip trek, something in my stock driver's seat broke and now it is bottomed out on the frame. Real fun when you hit a bump at 58 MPH on the highway. Long story short, I need a replacement...

    DeSpline Questions

Any mechanical problems that creep up from running de-splined hubs?

    DeSpline Questions

I have one. M925A2. But, I pull an M322 trailer with 14,000 lb tractor on it. Sometimes a skid steer with a forestry head. Same weight though. Getting around 5.5-6MPG now.

Oil leak, am I missing a plug?

The entire engine and frame is coated in oil. I just keep adding......the leak is slow enough that I just top her off when needed. I do a pre trip inspection before I leave and again on the way back just to make sure all fluids, lights, chains etc are good to go. I am adding about 1-2 quarts...

    DeSpline Questions

Old thread but interested if anyone has any experience they could share. 99.9% of my driving is on road. I would keep the splined hubs in the side box just in case they are needed but very interested in seeing at least SOME MPG improvement. A little would help a lot.

Oil leak, am I missing a plug?

I will check those as well thank you. There is a leak on the fuel pump side I have just not been able to find. I guess a good degreasing and pressure wash is needed.

Oil leak, am I missing a plug?

Thanks Simp. Does the tranny have to be dropped?
