The job will vary depending which front crossmember you have.
I've done two hoses on deuces with the older style, narrow, and rectangular front crossmembers. No removing of alternator or radiator required.
I cringe tho when I look at my deuce with the newer, flatter, wider front crossmember...
My 2004 Jeep TJ (4.0 Auto 3.73 gears) and M101A2
We recently took both 400 miles on a camping trip, and the trailer weight was near the 2000lb tow capacity of the Jeep, plus cargo cover. I estimate 11 mpg, with the overdrive disabled, at full posted highway speeds (65-70mph).
My gauges, both...
Interesting! I'd like to see that pic if you dredge it up!
The guy I bought it from had traded a Mustang for it, and only had it 6 months or so. The seller tried to tell me it had a Detroit Diesel and an Allison transmission, LOL.
Anywho, I plan to keep it close to stock. If I can find a...
Finally, a fun little clip driving over the Piscataqua River Bridge, into Maine in 4th gear, with my Jeep TJ in tow.

Note - that is not the air pressure warning light that is on, the bezel is just in the wrong place. Air pressure, buzzer, and brakes...
Introducing my third deuce, a 1967 Kaiser Jeep M275A2. It had been 2 full years since I had bought my last deuce.... I was due right?!?!
I picked it up in Deerfield, NH last Sunday. It has an interesting combination of old original parts and custom mods.
The OLD:
Continental LD-465-1...
I installed one a couple years ago, but haven't had a long enough outage to take advantage of it.
There is a battery in there, don't forget to change it, like a smoke detector. Maybe a weak battery caused it not to work on the last outage.
Definitely an interesting mixture of parts. If it weren't for the data plate, I'd say it started out as a gasser M35, but maybe they were still putting gasser parts into A1s. Then it was upgraded to an A2.
Your gauge plate and transmission shifter are the gasser parts I recognize. The hole...
I wrestled with that plug (bottom-front of the IP) this past weekend. I used a steel hex plug which I think was a little easier then a brass square plug would be.
The plug stayed on the hex drive with the help of a small earth magnet. To get it started, I held a drive extension in my left...
I'm interested in how your pop tester works out.
On my end, I thought I had worked out a compromise to save a little money. You see, I had a set of new injector nozzles purchased here on a SS group buy a few years ago and the injector shop said they would knock $15 off the service price if...
The shop emailed me these pictures and a more detailed quote. Note for pressure they are not using the TM spec of 2800psi (193 bar). Is $48 a high price considering they would be dismantling the injector for cleaning and not just running a solvent through it?
The diesel shop that tested my injectors called to say they were sticking and offered to clean them for $48 each. Nuts, at that price I might as well learn to clean them myself and buy an Indian pop tester. :shrugs:
I'm subscribing to this thread too, I just dropped off my M109A3 injectors to a fuel injection shop in Windham, ME for testing. Cost is $10 injector for the test, then they up charge from there.
I'm going with what TM 9-2815-210-34-2-2 (1981 date) says about pressures:
New nozzles should...
If he does want to paint it, a good place to buy paint is the Weare NH Rally, the last weekend in July:
