    6.2 IP timing

Those two gears appear to be correct. The IP drive tang goes in the round hole on the gear. The bolts on the IP gear only line up one way. Set the mark on the IP flange with the mark on the gear cover And lock the pump down. Tom

    New proportioning valve for M1009

If you have no fluid at the rear, then you have to open the front slightly and push Fluid out the front to simulate a leak. This will move the valve the other way. Then start over with the rear. You have to go slowly until some pressure is built to keep. The valve centered. You always open the...

    broken inner spring hydraulic head

My shut down control will not stay out. So I cut a piece of small hose to length, then slit it lengthwise. After stopping I hold the control out and slide the hose on. Also protects the cable shaft from rusting while out. Hopefully this will save me a headache. Been doing that a long time...

    New ride finally home!

Nice Looking Truck. Obviously as good mechanically as it looks. He give you any pointers on what he treated the fuel with if any? If not I would treat it with something like Howe's, Power Service, or Stanadyne treatment To help keep the Lubricity up, and the system clean. Also keep the water...

Newly purchased CUCV M1009 won't turn over.

That's Good News. Now carry that socket and ratchet with you in the truck. IT WILL DO IT AGAIN. At the most inopportune time Always. Armature in the starter probably has a burnt commentator segment. When the starter stops on that spot it will happen again. Time for a starter. Tom

Newly purchased CUCV M1009 won't turn over.

Take a 15/16 deep socket and long ratchet or bar and put it on the Crankshaft bolt and give the motor a short turn and see if you hear the Starter bendix click out. If you do, get in and see if it will start. This is providing you checked and have power to the starter solenoid when you turn...

    Where to find "Door Molding"?

You won't find the rubber weather strip at a auto parts. Try the two places mentioned they will have everything you need. Or google K30 door rubber or weather strip and you'll find a bunch more suppliers. The two listed are very reputable. Tom

    alternator question

The plug I'm referring to is the plug at the Alt with two small wires, Where the PO tapped. The missing capacitor has nothing to do with it not charging. It's only for radio interference. Could be numerous reason why Gen 2 don't light. Problem with bulb or socket, wiring,Gen2 relay, fuse...

    alternator question

12.6V at rear battery shows Alt 2 is not charging or Very little. It's normal to see 24+volts at the output stud of Alt 2. Even though it's a 12V Alt you will have 24+ volts there. That's where the Isolated ground comes into play and makes It so hard for people to wrap there head around this...

    alternator question

Looks to me that Alt2 lost it's exciter circuit, so he tapped Alt 1 circuit to excite #2.also. Providing the Gen 1 light on the dash works, and Gen 2 doesn't. After you unhook that mess trouble shoot Alt 2 circuit. Tom

    M1028 Won't Start Easily

I wouldn't be spraying either in a Glow plug system without first disabling them. Yes it sounds like you need to check the plugs,. Unhook each one at a time and test the plug terminal with a test light connected to power source, And the probe on the terminal. If it light's = good No light=...

    Not sure what connects here

That is the Temp sensor for the glow plug controller. The wire has a different connector end to plug into it. You must have a manual push button glow plug switch someone added? Otherwise you I don't think you would have a operational GP system. Tom

    Brake Not Bleeding off Pressure

Service air should be on the left rear. That's the air that applies the brakes. Emergency or Charge air is on the right rear (pass side) That's the air that supplies the tanks or system on the trailer and Used for Aux. air ie tires, wrench, etc. In the DOT world Emergency. glad hand is Red...

    Brake Not Bleeding off Pressure

Open the valve just slightly on the service brake glad hand. That's the one on the left rear. If problem goes away it's the air pack, if not it's the master cylinder. Tom
