Correct, the Littlefield M16 may have had an original body, but it was on an M2 frame. There are pictures somewhere on the web showing the underside with the fabricated frame extension.
Halftracks are awesome, I have spent over 10 years restoring our M2A1 from a bare frame to its present 95% complete condition (I don’t think it is possible to ever be 100% complete). Regardless what you spend on a halftrack, best to check it out in person or pay a trusted individual who is...
What are your thought about maximum boost on a turbo equipped NHC250? I find that our M813 hits 12-15psi before hitting 2,000-2,100 rpm for shift points (especially 3-4). So I end up shifting around 1,800 rpm or letting up on the throttle to reduce boost. Is 20 psi boost safe when pulling under...
The turbo builds 10-12 psi boost at 1,900 - 2,100 rpm, you really need to drive by the gauges and go easy on the throttle on a hard pull. I believe it will do more, but I'm unsure how far to push it.
Turbo install is complete and first major test run towing the Halftrack to the Va. Graves Mtn Rally over the Labor Day weekend went well. Big improvement in pulling power with the turbo, well worth the expense and effort. Also the exhaust temps are greatly reduced, before turbo the exhaust temps...
Thank you for the confirmation. I have the boost gauge plumbed into the intake manifold, on initial test drive the boost gauge was operating but wanted to make sure it was accurate. I have the pyro gauge is mounted in the instrument panel and the boost gauge is mounted on the steering column.
I used a modified drag link socket on our halftrack, usually a little heat on the stubburn nuts works great. let me know if you need any detailed pictures of an M2A1, ours is 95% complete.
I'm finishing up the turbo install on our M813, where is the best place to plumb in the boost gauge port? There is a tapped and plugged location on the lower / middle of the intake manifold or does the port need to be closer to the turbo?
Thank you.
Hello all,
I'm in the process of acquiring all the pieces parts to add a turbo to our M813, currently I have the exhaust manifold and turbo (Holset BHT3B). My question is regarding placement of the exhaust, I want to run the exhaust up the back RH corner of the cab. The large space between the...
Never say never when it comes to parting with a cherished item. We first purchased the M215 in 2001 and spent several years restoring it. We have enjoyed maintaining this piece of military history, taking it to parades, car / air shows and many special events. The time has come for it to have a...
I'm looking to add a turbo set up to our M813, any suggestions on a supplier for the manifolds and turbo? The 855s that have the boxy high profile intake, will this manifold and crossover tube fit under the hood without modifying the hood?
Yes, I have followed the various threads discussing the...
Hello,
I'm in need of 6-7 Gamma Goat tires for a CCKW project (running DUKW rims), any known sources? Reading back through the old posts did not turn up much info. Looked like Jack Tomlin had some years ago, but that is not an option anymore.
Thank you, Karl
