If you mount it like that and catch it on something, the antenna will snap off (unless you are going backwards). Mine was mounted to the same pole that a convoy light would mount on the back of the cab. Fold the antenna forward and tie it off to the turn signal bracket to keep it low enough to...
It would have been easier if the 5 ton was running! The battery died and no way to jump it off where it sat. It was a great day for all and the weather was great (during the day). I had a great time and it was nice to have the Pinz back in the woods. Thanks to Vinny and Jack for putting it...
Welcome from Orlando! If you sealed it with a good coat of clear it might work. I am not sure that you would get the finish that you are looking for but it sure would be different. Is your grandfather still around? If so tell him thanks for his service from me!

Well if they are supposed to grade 8 and they were grade 5, I would feel safe answering the question of why they sheared. Big difference in stength.

The surge brakes on my 101A2 work really well. I would think long and hard about how much it will cost to make the mod vs repairing the surge brake set up. A m101 behind a Dakota will be a tad heavy but I think that for once in a while thing you will be fine. The trailer is set up with...
I will be able to make it on Friday and Saturday but have to work on Sunday. I will be bringing out the Pinz this time as it fits much better than the deuce. Thanks for the heads up Vinny as I totally missed this post. I will be there early on Friday.

It sure looks like an old 2 valve Mack and if so, then it's not a multi-fuel. All Mack engines that I have seen were diesel except some very old (late 40's) which were gas. I had a 1950 LF that had a gas engine with a 1 barrel updraft carb! Ran good but god did it drink the fuel!

I bring home all of the diesel / gas mix that gets put into our work vehicles in drums. I have stored it for a few months before using and never noticed any seperation or sludge issues.

5tire.com is just south of the state line in Texas. Great people to deal with and fair prices. He will have what you need if you want to take a couple hundred mile trip.
I am 6'4 and 300 lbs and fit ok. I keep a roll of paper towels on the transfer case lever to pad it from my leg. The window crank must be in the correct position or it will tear up my left leg. I have the springer seat cranked up as far as it will go but it does bottom out from time to time...
Welcome from orlando FL. Sorry I can not help with the local area in OK. If you want to take a little road trip, the MVPA show in AR is this weekend. There will be many trucks there and the people are very friendly. You could get a chance to ask people close to you all of your questions. I...
Welcome to Steel Soldiers. I understand your concerns but do not dwell on it. Most times there is not a problem, although it does happen. Print out your pictures and bring them with you to document what you bought in case there is a problem. I have never had anyone pick up my stuff from GL...
As a matter of fact, that is how mine was towed down from MI when I bought it. It did have a good amount of tilt but was told that it pulled great. The 101 is hooked to my Pinz and has worked well.
That makes sense. I have not been around a 5 ton so I did not know that they were at a different hight.
My M101 is a A2 and the lunette is completely different because of the surge brake. I am not sure of the A1.
Thanks for the input!
