Patracy, how much coolant was yours collecting in the case? I get very little in the case.

I warmed the truck up today and pulled the valve covers again. I couldnt identify anything definitively. I can see the oil under the rockers does look murky. It seems that water or coolant collects on each rocker and drips down into the oil pool, making it look milky. So i shut it down and...

A cracked head sounds easy to me at this point. I hope I can identify that without actually pulling them. I doubt that will be the case though. But I cant pull the heads until March, as I need to use the truck regularly still.

So you must of had a good amount of coolant in the case then? Gallons? From the information here, it is leading towards a cracked head and not the block like you had. I hope.

I am just going to pull the valve covers and see if I can watch the steam. I need the truck so I can't pull heads right now anyway. I am hoping I can just pin point it to the head, but I know that that is being optimistic without actually pulling it apart.

The valve covers are off in the picture. The steam is primarily coming from that front head. I am going to do the same thing again. Get it hot, pull the covers, shut it down, and see if I can source the steam.

Vapor or steam definitely continued to roll out past the rockers. Not normal? I dont know where it was coming from. Ill have to do it again and look. Replacement motor is not what I wanted to hear.

I did that. It just looked like blowby, no particular location. The only thing that was peculiar, was when I shut it down. The steam or vapor continued to come from the front part of the motor primarily.

Are both of these head issues, or is the water jacket the block.

Ive gone through about 5 gallons of coolant, but only have a cup in the crank. I think a lot went out the slobber tube as steam.
