Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

It chugs like a train out the slobber tube. It has been like that since the day I picked it up with the new head gaskets. It has the new style gaskets. You are implying this could be a minor head gasket failure?

Another defeat on that one. Thanks for the info, none the less.

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

Looks bolted to me if this is what you are talking about.

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

Pepper? Really? The blowby this truck also has leads me to believe it was probably overheated when the head gasket previously blew. It all ties together. Im learning. I have such a love hate relationship with this truck that I am just going to step away from it and drive it at a minimum as...

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

Looks like I am going to be looking for a motor. Pressurizing the coolant with 10lbs overnight yielded no coolant in the combustion chambers. What I did observe, was that it only loses pressure when the engine is hot. Once it cooled off, it stabalized at 5 lbs overnight. In the morning, I...

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

Ya I am not too optimistic about preserving this motor at this point.

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

Patracy, how much coolant was yours collecting in the case? I get very little in the case.

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

I warmed the truck up today and pulled the valve covers again. I couldnt identify anything definitively. I can see the oil under the rockers does look murky. It seems that water or coolant collects on each rocker and drips down into the oil pool, making it look milky. So i shut it down and...

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

A cracked head sounds easy to me at this point. I hope I can identify that without actually pulling them. I doubt that will be the case though. But I cant pull the heads until March, as I need to use the truck regularly still.

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

So you must of had a good amount of coolant in the case then? Gallons? From the information here, it is leading towards a cracked head and not the block like you had. I hope.

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

From what I saw, it was steaming out the front. At least I have that going for me. And I have to believe that coolant is pushing into the combustion chamber. I have very little in the block, yet am losing gallons. Cracked head putting it in the chamber, or steaming oit as blowby? Does that make...

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

I am just going to pull the valve covers and see if I can watch the steam. I need the truck so I can't pull heads right now anyway. I am hoping I can just pin point it to the head, but I know that that is being optimistic without actually pulling it apart.

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

Thank you everyone. I appreciate the insight and advice. I will probably be able to look at it again tomorrow.

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

The valve covers are off in the picture. The steam is primarily coming from that front head. I am going to do the same thing again. Get it hot, pull the covers, shut it down, and see if I can source the steam.

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

You can see the steam rising in this picture. Motor is off, forward most head.

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

Vapor or steam definitely continued to roll out past the rockers. Not normal? I dont know where it was coming from. Ill have to do it again and look. Replacement motor is not what I wanted to hear.

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

I did that. It just looked like blowby, no particular location. The only thing that was peculiar, was when I shut it down. The steam or vapor continued to come from the front part of the motor primarily.

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

Are both of these head issues, or is the water jacket the block.

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

Ive gone through about 5 gallons of coolant, but only have a cup in the crank. I think a lot went out the slobber tube as steam.
