So, next year, I want to lock out one rear axle, to cut out some of the driveline bind we get on these trucks. I have read that some other people on the forum have done this. You basically put a double splined axle on one side of the forward tandem, as well as the lock out. By doing this...
The air assist kit makes the truck wander on the highway?
I have a AOM kit that I want to install, and would plumb it like you suggest if it would help. My truck already wanders enough on the highway, I don't want to do anything else to it to make it worse.
Are we talkin biodiesel or waste vegy oil here? Two totally different animals.
OP, since you said it is clear and golden, I assume you mean biodiesel. Id personally run it is actually production astm bio, just not the bottom of the barrel where stuff settles out to.
How do you use it to drag stuff into the bed, being mounted so low? Do you just drag the cable over the lip of the bed, or to you have some type of gantry system that the cable rides on in order to lift vertically?
I picked up a champion 3K winch for $80 today. I have a 12" wide x 6 foot long piece of C channel that I am going to attach to the front most portion of the bed. On top of that, I am going to bolt a standard hitch receiver. This way I can mount and unmount the winch as needed. The winch is...
I am using a Vanner Equalizer to do just that. The equalizer charges the battery for my 12V system. The 12V leg on the equalizer goes to the stand alone 12V battery instead of the middle +/- posts on the two 12v batteries for 24V.
Keep in mind though, that it can't do both. It is either an...
I will. Im just sitting here on my lunch break day dreaming. I happened to notice that access panel in other pics, and the way ill mount the winch, it will be covered up. Off hand, I dont think covering it will effect anything.
I guess it isn't too complicated to fab up something with angle iron to support it. I don't think a 3K winch is going to put much pressure up there anyhow.
I'm just thinking about it. The access panel in the middle of the bed at the cab. I see it on some trucks but not all. Mine has it...
I would like to mount a small 3000 lb winch to the front of my bed. I want to mount it as high as possible, so that I can pull stuff up into the bed. I won't be using it to recover the truck, to any capacity.
If I mount it to the top of the bed rail, in the middle, underneath the window, how...
I do not get the option to pick the motor if I am swapping to a take out for nothing.
I am currently doing my best to talk myself into the new crate motor.
I am definitely going to get the truck there. No question about that. The questions that remain are whether I am driving it there or not. And do I want to buy a new crate motor instead of having a take out put in. I really like the idea of new, but don't like the idea of the price involved.
If I have to drive it, I will. I am fairly confident that it would make it. The problem is, this is two trips there and back. They aren't going to do a motor swap for me in a day. One round trip to drop it off, another a couple of weeks later to pick it up again. Two separate one way rental...
Its a viable option that I will use if absolutely necessary, but am looking to avoid. There will be a return trip also where I will be driving it.
I will be doing it to pick up the truck later on, but if I can avoid having to do it to drop it off also, that would be ideal. Back and forth...
I have to get my M35a2 truck back to Brackney PA from Burlington CT. The truck drives, so I could drive it a distance of up to about half way, to meet up with the transport.
I am flexible on the timing of this, no particular rush.
Thanks.
Well, amazingly, the seller offered to put in another take out motor for free. Or, I can buy a crate motor and they will put that in for me. This is over and above, and they are really going out of their way to help me out here, when they didn't have to do anything really.
Now I need to...
