    MPU Motional Transducer for MEP-802A/803A

Or in my case, just outright missing

    MPU Motional Transducer for MEP-802A/803A

No Datcon made the part in the sets (think they know go by Maxima Technologies, which is a mashup of companies including the old Stewart Warner). I got a price of roughly $40/ea on the OE part, but it was a 2-3 week lead time via finditparts.com. Twice the price through GAC, but could get them...

    MPU Motional Transducer for MEP-802A/803A

I assumed that was the reason, just wanted to confirm. Thank you both.

    MPU Motional Transducer for MEP-802A/803A

Does anyone know if these are simple circuit devices (IE the leads are irrelevant)? On the factory sets the leads feature one male, one female. I bought a couple replacements from Governors America Corp in Agawam, MA (part number MSP6719) and they come with raw flying leads. Thanks

    Purchasing Question

Ray70 higher in this thread had some good recommendations (well nut, for example) on items to look at, which could also be considered items to put on the shelf).

3.5KW runs great for 30 minutes, Dies, Wait 30 minutes, runs great for 30minutes

What model number is this? Does it have an external fuel shutoff solenoid like the bigger sets?

    Purchasing Question

Hey Clark, good to see you here. The quad fuse is one of the more important, glad you got parts for that coming in. Definitely if you can add some 1/4" hardware cloth to the underside of the set with self tapping sheet metal screws (if you keep the batteries in place, those holes need not be...

3.5KW runs great for 30 minutes, Dies, Wait 30 minutes, runs great for 30minutes

Does it abruptly die, or does it sputter out?

What is a good mobile set up for using my MEP 803A

Here is the least expensive spider box I have run into: https://teamequip.com/genpro-gillette-cg03-01f-universal-military-electrical-distribution-spider-box-for-military-generators-120-240-volts-out/ I say least expensive because they allow you to make an offer, can probably get one for $100...

What is a good mobile set up for using my MEP 803A

Spider boxes are the best in between of ease of deployment, and connectivity to various sized electrical needs.

    Good info, thanks

    Hello from CT, M831A Question

Any luck? Waiting on a call back from them too about something else... customer attentiveness is not their strong suit.

    MEP 002/003 Motor mounts

I haven't had too many air cooled sets come through my hands, but I have never seen an issue with any of the mounts. The forum is always welcoming good info though on upgrades and fixes that aren't always 'by the book'.

MEP 802/803 Fuel Supply Hose Replacement

The position is fine... its the method of assembly that sucks. If it was hand tightened and oiled like any rational adult would do, it would be a breeze to change.

MEP-803A - Black smoke under load

Those are unburned hydrocarbons and combustion residue. When a machine is running under sufficient load (thus sufficient EGTs), those are burned off and exit the machine. When the exhaust temps are too cool, or the machine is not adjusted properly, it builds and so does the chance for top end...

    MEP-002A/003A Frequency Transducer Replacement

Its a nice unit. 1984, refurbed at 698 hours in 1993... only has 717 hours on it now.

    MEP-016b / 701Aa voltage regulator wiring?

Should also be in the -34 I think here: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/all-the-tms-you-need-to-work-on-the-mep-701a-and-mep-016b.172682/ Hope you got it operational though. Lack of PMCS shines bright under stress. Wish everyone was as prepared as they could be. Good job doing your part...

  20. Light in the Dark

    Hello from CT, M831A Question

As I said by PM... I think the ball is in your court. You have 8 days from auction end to pick it up I think I saw. Square the discrepancy away with Richie Bros first.
