    MEP-803A Generator won't start ..

I think you have work ahead of you, before you really should start worrying about if it runs. Quad fuse, sure... have you looked at any of the other wires or connections? If the emergency switch is missing, there is no telling who touched what. You really should replace it for starters. Here is...

    MEP 803a failure

That sucks. You are going to have to disassemble most of the machine to 'easily' repair this.

    803 not generating

Yeah thats a whole lot of mass to suddenly not want to turn.

How do "lift" your 1200 lbs MEP803 without a forklift??

And again without any info, I'm flying blind... but why not just use the lift gate of the truck, and wheel your steel cart out to the dropoff vehicle, and place it just below level, and hulk the machine onto it there?

How do "lift" your 1200 lbs MEP803 without a forklift??

plywood, wooden round fence posts, ATV and chain... there are a few ways to skin a cat. The distance is probaby the biggest driving factor. Are you stationary mounting this, or do you have long term plans to put it on a trailer?

How do "lift" your 1200 lbs MEP803 without a forklift??

I've got a tractor with forks. Sounds like creativity is in your future. How far from the delivery point is the installation spot?

    MEP 003A voltage regulator location?

In the future you should ask around if anyone has good suppliers for things. This exact item is up on ebay right now, over 100 available, for $95 (with a make offer function). Here to help others. The part should be called out in the exploded parts diagram for your machine. If you take the...

    Mep002 blows out oil fill

Some diesels have positive crankcase pressure (like my 7.3IDI in my Ford, it has a CDR valve for this reason), others (like the 80x series) have negative crankcase pressure (ie vacuum). Even with negative pressure, sometimes the spinning internal components do create air movement out. Off the...

    MEP 003A voltage regulator location?

Have you downloaded the technical manuals for this machine? It does have a schematic of all systems in the set, including the position of this device (and a whole LOT more useful info). The DC voltage regulator is behind the shroud of the engine fan.

MEP003A Starts, but then stops either when starter released or after about 20 minutes running

51Rs are about $120/ea at Wal-Mart.. about $140 at TSC. I picked up some Champion AGMs a year ago at Pep Boys for like $160/pc, best price I could find on an AGM.

    My Mep-803a standby generator project

Easier to just inventory a second machine... the parts storage is included N/C ;)

    mep gen sets

Yes you can run HHO in them (thats just diesel with kerosene blended in), but you really need to run additives for lubricity if doing so (for the injectors sake). But no issue. Do you know how much power you actually need?

Output issues with MEP701A - Power outage issue.

I couldnt find a data plate online to check (the manual I saw for the MEP-016B didnt show this). Doing some quick math though against the 3kw listed figure, I believe thats about 28A (@.8PF). So assuming that, you should have 28A in 120V, and 14A per leg in 240V.

Output issues with MEP701A - Power outage issue.

As stated above, I think its the LRA thats beating up on this genset. Hopefully you get power back soon. We were out for about 42 hours, back on now thankfully.

MEP 002a spin on fuel filter needed

I have not, but because those remote heads can be mounted anywhere you are only limited by your imagination, as to where you can mount then. You will need to source a couple new fuel lines, but if you are set on this upgrade, that shouldnt dissuade you.

MEP 002a spin on fuel filter needed

You won't find an off the shelf solution. You can definitely DIY one though, I just did that on an 002 a couple months back. Here is an older thread with info, and below are photos of my particular finished product. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/mep-002-003-fuel-filter-upgrade.195397/

    mep gen sets

Sometimes money spent is money saved. Determine how critical it is for you and yours to have power (and for instance, how important any frozen food, ability to run a well, etc) is to you in a long term outage, and make that determination. The world isn't getting any more secure.

MEP003A Starts, but then stops either when starter released or after about 20 minutes running

This little gem has been going for almost 24 hours straight, without as much as a hiccup. They are saying tentatively that power may be restored around 11P on 8/7. We'll see.....
