    Hello from CT, M831A Question

I highly doubt a well pump will appreciate 50hz, and probably not the minisplit either, but at least with that one you can visually find the data plate on it to confirm what voltage and hertz range it will operate under.

    Hello from CT, M831A Question

Many digital items are 100-240hz (and accept 50 and 60hz). Not all modern appliances are running off auto converting DC power sources though. Do you run a well pump?

    Hello from CT, M831A Question

Are you 100% positive? There were auctions last Wed/Thur that were called out as not being 831As, but an alternate part number and a lot of similar images. If the heading says that, but the content does not... you might have grounds with Richie Bros. You might not too, if the alternate photos...

    Hello from CT, M831A Question

There were a few oddball sets in this prior weeks Fermont auction that appeared to be 50hz units for overseas use. You need to buy a kill a watt meter (unless you have a multimeter that displays hertz) and plug it into this machine and see what its actually producing.

    MEP-002A/003A Frequency Transducer Replacement

It appears there is another option for those of you who fight with this part. So while this part was not originally designed for this set, it does work on the machine to make your hertz meter work again! I have installed one on an 003A here today and it worked just fine. I was discussing doing...

    Generator AUX fuel connections

All the sets Ive seen have that adapter on a chain as part of the wrap.

    Mep803a stopped producing power

Experiencing a failure when the last thing you need is one, puts spare parts and knowledge of the TMs a lot higher in the food chain to me. I would take this opportunity to think about what other components you might want to consider putting on the shelf, that would allow a genset to continue to...

    Mep803a stopped producing power

If you indeed need a new VR, I would highly suggest the unit that kloppk manufactures: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/mep-802a-mep-803a-voltage-regulators-replaces-19580-88-21063-6110-01-363-0492.196939/

    Missing switch

Welcome. For starters, pull down all the related technical manuals for this machine. They can be found here: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/manuals-for-the-mep-806b.173099/ The information you seek on the toggle will be found in the TM 9-6115-672-24P book. Or at least enough info to...

MEP 802/803 Fuel Supply Hose Replacement

My local NAPA will do any hose I need. You got a Napa in town?

ME-804a won't stay running new Electro switch 7502LV

The manufacturer on your temp switch is Index Sensors. Reach out to them (http://indexsensors.com/products.html) and tell them you want part number 8037132 or TM-512C3-220N0 .

ME-804a won't stay running new Electro switch 7502LV

I'm not familiar with the wiring diagram of an 804, but I would say double and triple check your wire positions against the wiring diagram, before you worry about the little jumper.

    To insulate or not?

it could even be a canvas tarp, secured in 4 corners, just something to slow the heat egress.
  15. Light in the Dark

    To insulate or not?

Thats a good idea... Id make sure you seal up the holes on the underside of the machine at the same time or you are ASKING for cold rodents to hit the sauna that is your 803.
  16. Light in the Dark

    To insulate or not?

I don't remember offhand the exact figure, but the stock configuration is supposed to be good down to -15-20F. With that said, my personal concern is not with the coolant but fuel gelling. That has bitten me in these machines before on super cold new england days.

Has anyone piped the exhaust on an 802 831 or 803 into a water drum?

These sets are not designed for back pressure. I think the 80X platform is quite tame in terms of noise.

    MEP 803a failure

Correct, that's what I think. With the genhead, sorry for not being clearer.
  19. Light in the Dark

    MEP 803a failure

I am thinking we have a mechanical issue if it was belching black smoke, so who knows.
