MEP-803A replacement gauges and other items

I've got a fault panel available from an 802. Cant do much right now to have it go anywhere, but maybe we can talk down the line if you still need it.

    This Forum format SUCKS!

Good luck. I dont know if the supporter tag allows less ads or what, but Ive got both Ad Block Plus and the inherent adblocker in my browser (Opera) and it hums along. If you get bored, you know where to find us.

    MEP-802A Busted Connecting Rod End

Ray is a good guy to deal with, if he has the parts you need. I would also recommend Gary Jones over at Diesel Electric Services (https://diesel-electric.us). If its a Lister part, he can get it for you!

    MEP preparedness

If you are at the point of running a genset during extreme times, it would be in your best interest to look elsewhere online for tips and tactics about the methodology behind running in bursts, and when it makes sense to do so. Can't say too much more on that as the site guidelines warn of...

802 / 803 CT wire, was it cut to fit?

No the numbers on them were custom run. Search through the forum, the same milspec wire is available on spoons without nomeclature on it... want to say it was through an Allied or similar.

    MEP preparedness

Forgive me for sounding alarmist, but I hope you all use this situation across the world to make sure your sets are not only fully operational, but that you have the necessary supplies (fuel, filters, backup parts, etc) to ride out whatever length of time you could potentially see life...

Prepping a Gen trailer for the road home.

Even if they will take 50psi, which I am not entering into that one... its gonna ride much better at 40.

Prepping a Gen trailer for the road home.

Older Ford rims (8x6.5) will readily mount up (Older F350s with Dana 60s feature this). They sure do ride well don't they, probably even better with two sets!

    802A hookup?

The bonding strap ties N to G for free standing power installations (where you would be running discretely, and with a driven ground rod). If you are wiring into your home, theoretically you disconnect the bonding strap as N and G should be bonded in the home.

    MEP-8xx series fuel pump

I have a 1074 in stock, but because its specially terminated to fit exactly in place of the main fuel pump, thats where I will keep it for. The other unit is more generic in terms of exit and entrance orientation, and since on the aux fuel input one side is flexible line (versus all molded for...

    MEP-8xx series fuel pump

I just had to use an E8135 on a machine in the aux fuel position. A bit of alternate mounting (square Facet was there before), and shes in there like factory. Check out the nice note left for me upon initial inspection.... And yes, nice fuel level switch...

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

Thats a good leak... only while running or when the set is priming? Have you taken the roof off the set for full access and view?

    Main start switch dead Mep-802

Guilty of this myself... at least its a cheap fix.

MEP 802a/803a reliability in the field

Guy is referencing eBay. Its commonly called the big auction site, since the rules of the site can be... problematic, for some things. We are not forbidden to say the word, but life is often easier when the moderators don't come around looking for rules infractions.

    MEP-831A Overvoltage

That sounds like a nightmare setup for reliability, to me.

    MEP-831A Overvoltage

Do the 831s have adjustable throttle cables like the other machines? I just diagnosed an 803 that kept giving me an overvoltage condition... turns out someone messed with the stops for the throttle and it actually WAS producing too much voltage. Have you tested this machine with a handheld...

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

Most auto parts stores will test your battery for free. Worth a drive if you have one local.
  18. Light in the Dark

Connected my MEP-803A the proper way as my home standby generator... Install pics...

What manufacturer breaker box do you have? Can find install instructions online based on that. If you can provide the make, I can help show you manual breakout options made to fit.

MEP 802a/803a reliability in the field

Glad to help... can't drive a Kubota worth a damn, but thank you for the kind words. Glad both sets are up to your standards.

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

Someone before you was trying to diagnose an electrical problem and gave up... thats my bet. Just put a 10k up for sale in the classifieds that showed up with all the relays loose, no hold downs in place, no start, no power condition.
