Any thoughts, fine SS folks? Just got a set in, and its got a long term leak in the one thats there.
Edit: I will hit the manuals when I get out of work, for those naysayers ;). Just trying to get a jump on it.
My garage is uninsulated, with a poured floor and two leaky garage doors... January/February sucks if I need to be out there any longer than an hour working on something.
That could work. I might just do what I said, and simply change the cable termination on my load bank to a locking plug and be done with it, as I've already invested in the elements and fan, and I know it works. This way I can still use it in the garage, but instead of being ceiling mounted it...
I received an email from a manufacturer who supplied parts for these gensets, that I would like to pass forward to the forum. Perhaps some of you can take advantage of their offerings (I have nothing to do this with company, nor any financial gain from it... they had actually reached out to a CL...
A few folks here have put load banks together (I was one). Its nice... but I might change how I do things, and wire up a separate locking power inlet, wired up to a variable electric heater for my garage. That way I can load test my generators AND stay warm(er) when wrenching in the winter!
I hadn't read the fine print on their tech document on the LPW4, but everything you said is correct. Kind of silly... but I suppose all manufacturers dabble in the grey area of "marketing facts".
I know the engine will handle it, as its rated for higher from Lister from the factory... but yeah, no need to whip a horse just because you can. I test to about 13.5kw and if it pulls, shes good.

Are you getting hertz fluctuation as well? I cant see all of the gauges on your video (too shiny). You should have one of these, for situations just like this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/P3-International-Kill-A-Watt-EZ-Meter-P4460/202196388
It will give you an instantaneous readout of voltage...
I'd love to add the manual gauge to my machine, but the line for the arctic heater passes right where I'd need to be looking to see the gauge... oh well.
Based on total volume of posts, this sectional forum should be about Generators.... so yeah, I think its well worth the time to split the posts out (or its easier to move all the non power generation posts to their own subsection). I'd be amenable to helping if need be too, as I have been what...
What is your intent here... just to move it in and out as needed? As others have said, you cannot use one "as-is", but you can if you raise the machine up slightly or just have it reside on a pallet. Heavy duty casters seem to be an option for some folks who need to move sets on concrete alot. I...
