I sold a parts machine a few weeks back (well two of them really, to a single customer). They will have a duplicate mount, as I believe both units were intact in this regard. Let me reach out to them and see if they might be open to discussing this with you. PM me your info, OP, so I may pass it...
If you hit up the big auction site, they are currently up under the search term 'Fuel Water Separator Filter With Drain Valve Mep-802a'. Looks like $15 plus freight. No affiliation. I like the after market units, but whatever floats your boat.
Yeah I just use one of the alternate numbers in the list above, and disregard the drain hose. Just use an empty coffee can, and drain with the bottom nut.
For casual use, it will probably work just fine. The down rod is immersed in the fuel, so the seal on the drum isn't that big of a deal... whether the seep hole in the adapter or a slight air leak at the bung adapter... so long as the down pipe is in fuel, its gonna pull.
Thats interesting, but not unsurprising. After all, Lister-Petter used to be one of the biggest players in small scale stationary power. Their older single cylinder 6/1 (and now Indian clone) are STILL in use across the developing world. Powering anything and everything you can think of from...
Even though its an online process to bid and buy... not all mil surplus buyers want anything to do with the 'net past whats necessary. So its possible that the reach out notes simply havent been seen. Glass half full and all.
They seem cute... but the more electronics you shove into a set, the more problems you are asking for. Electronics work great, until they don't (and we arent talking about off the shelf items).
It looks like a great widget for folks who are interested in that kind of mod. I like mine plain jane, but I am glad there are more (and better!) solutions to the community for this.
That would work too (I hate those **** guards). Anything that doesn't include a permanent mounting solution will eventually fail. Just due to the nature of the exposure. But at least knowing the ingress points makes you ahead of the curve already.
