If we are talking about an 803, I routinely load bank test units I sell up to about 60A, and if she holds and everything works as it should, its good to go. The 803 is rated 52A (which at 240/PF1 = 12.5kw), so its got room to breath up above that... but I personally wouldnt want extended runs...
The biggest drawback to the aircooled units over the liquid cooled, for the casual backup owner... is cycling. Gotta keep fresh fuel going through the IP so it doesn't stick up. The 80x series can sit for significantly longer, without needing to be cycled. The IP on the 00x needs to be cycled...
There is safe, and there is legal... sometimes they are one in the same. Panel interlocks are cheap $$ and do the job just fine. If you were talking high amperage, Id put in a manual handle service disconnect before the panel... but interlocks work just fine for 802/803s.
Your work = money out of their pocket. I just spent $550 to have (1) hose spigot installed on my house because my wife just had to get it in this week.... so yeah, these "skilled trades" people can take a number with me.
Just thought I would share this, for anyone that has to do any splicing. I had to wire in a new connector on an older diesel F350 over the weekend, and used these: https://www.arrow.com/en/products/2213600-8/te-connectivity
That particular model is for 16-18ga wire, but they make sizes for the...
I think Ray70 has an extra trailer mounted switch (sold the gensets that had been on the trailer). Might want to look him up here. Hes based in Rhode Island.
Are we talking about cavitation? I know the older 7.3s were prone to this. The fix was to use an ELC (with SCAs in it). In my machine I use Rotella ELC.
If you can get a deliverable product at that price, I believe it will be quite successful, but as a manufacturer myself... for what it is, and the captive nature of the product, I do believe your target price point could be higher, without being considered outrageous.
Correct. Which is why I provided the info for GAC, as they are offering non milspec retrofits (and they were the OEM as far as I know). Though with that said, I had a user reach out to me from Venezuela trying to get info, and I passed forward their information about this... and crickets. I...
Yup, those little bastards love right below the windings, right on that terminal block. Glad you found it! Had I seen this thread earlier, I would have told you to make sure to take the top off too. Dont forget there are two holes under the batteries, and how do you have the power entry sealed...
I would suggest you reach out to http://www.governors-america.com, and ask for Matthew McKearney (mmckearney@governors-america.com). I don't know what their pricing is, but I know they are offering what you need.
Yeah thats a well worn dog, good luck in finding info. Not sure I'd trust it to keep a beer fridge running, but I do understand folks are having to do what they need to do right now in Venezuela. May whatever happen be as bloodless as possible.
Hopefully this flies around here, but I need help moving a long vehicle (nonmilitary) from CA to MA. I have a 1992 F350 Crew Cab Long Bed 4x4 sitting in CA, waiting for a ride to its new home here in my hands. I am striking out with these normal freight brokers online, so I turn here.
Let me...
Has anything else changed? Did it make power exactly as configured before? Do you have power at the convenience outlet? Cycle that switch a couple dozen times without any load on it... you might simply have a corrosion problem.
