Here is what I see in the SS manual directory:

From TM 9-6115-642-10:
1-11.The Engine Starting System (FIGURE 1-3), consists of two 12-volt batteries connected in series, a starter, a 24 volt battery charging alternator, a magnetic pickup (for sensing engine speed) and the related switches and relays required for control of the starting...
So as its already got a breaker wired in standard, you could simply wire back to a panel with more breakers of the same size, and make a redundant switch. This would allow for centralized control. I would probably do that just for safety sake, due to the amperage being drawn.
I would start your build with these 155mm: https://www.alpinehomeair.com/viewproduct.cfm?productid=453068826
Meant for air handling systems. Surely you can fabricate up an appropriate tunnel to mount 3 of these into with a real high cfm fan at one end (and a critter guard at the other). Thats...
Yup, start with a kill-a-watt (drive by any home depots in your travel? normally in stock), and long term also get a good meter. Good luck with the diagnosis.
You have to get the set running first, THEN flip the battle short. You can do so pretty much immediatley after you release the start switch and its at RPM. Its a built in safety to not start in battle short.
Yeah get the set up and running first. More than likely you wont need to do anything to the governor. Do you have concerns with something on the DC side?
I wonder if this topic should be added as part of Daybreaks list of parts and acessories. Surely bad gauges are a pretty common thing... I will do that though. If you stumble upon any actual manufacturer part numbers on what you have bought in the past, please share. Thanks Jimmy
I know a Stewart Warner was crossed for the fuel gauge (as well as a VDO)... but has anyone had luck finding a coolant temp? I understand I can swap the sender out and use a different gauge, but theres got to be something out there that will work that isnt over $100!
You aren't the first to experience befuddlement due to low voltage on batteries, wont be the last either. Make sure you keep them topped off during the cold months ahead. Also you should really consider rodent proofing your set, if you have not done so yet.
For those interested, I have been able to obtain a copy of the Dewey issued commercial manual for this unit (not a gov document). See attached. One of my units came with a hard copy of it, not sure of the second. I do see at least one connecting cord for the remote unit (but I don't think the...
My new fun arrived on a skid earlier today. Care to share the bolt sizes and extended lengths chose to replace (that you called out in the video)? Thanks
