Yeah not enough meat to go with these potatoes unfortunately. All new injectors? Completely clean fuel system? Air filter? Easy enough to pull the air filter to see if its crushing after extended runs. Let us help you, by helping us ;).
Well I hit the mark with the manufacturer, but they are adamant that they will sell direct to the government only (I do sell to the government, but thats not good enough for them). Moving on...
I reached out to a hose manufacturer (through my business email address), listed as having provided the lower hose previously. I have also inquired with the same firm if they can supply the upper hose. I have requested quantity break info too. Will pass forward if I get a response.
Yeah just take the top and side sheet metal off to give you access, grab the filter as high up as you can get it, and give 'er ****. I just replaced one on a 10k, and what a PITA. Oil the seal before reseating new one (a Wix with bottom drip spout) and this puppy will be good to go through the ages.
802 is for you. The beautiful thing about these sets... if you find 6+ years down the road that you do need to step up to a 10kw, you've got 'money in the bank' with that 802. You will probably be able to sell it off for what you paid (or even more, as prices seem to be trending).

You were close Guy ;). Too many threads to keep straight on that silly fitting.
Of course the list that Hard Head mentioned is a great reference tool... I just assumed in my 'yes' answer that many of those things woudl be looked at. I should really get out of the habit of assuming.
Ask yourself... is it worth it, for what you paid? Yes, you are more than halfway torn down. If you part this machine out, you should easily be able to recoup your original investment in parts. These days, I find myself judging the worthwhile nature of tasks by my TIME, not my COST. In...
Welcome to SS. Have you picked up all the manuals for this set, including the manuals for the engine? You will need to go through the -24P for the engine for this info. I say this... because they list a standard piston, and then 4 more that are oversizd.
Knowing this went through a reset... you...
So, I reached out to a factory Fermont guy... as far as he is aware, the military was never issued a scan tool for the diagnostic port. He just repeated that there 'are certain voltages and such that you are supposed to be able to read at the connector that aid in troubleshooting'.
Ive got a trio of 5s left, and a 10k (all on trailers). Just have to get my personal 5k operational, and I can rest for a bit on what I have now. I am not buying junk units, for the sake of having units. You can't even get 400hz machines for reasonable money anymore for parts! Just nuts.
Yes the gensets in the southeast have spiked in price since the trio of hurricanes last year. A lot of folks effected, both here and in the island nations. I do feel like we may have taken a permanent turn in the marketplace though... prices will soften, but I think super deals on these are gone.
I just have to shake my head. I hate most of those other kind of forums... its like you are walking through a chicken house. Everyone has their opinion on things, but there is never dialogue... its just declaratory statements. Dumb chickens...
