Another lesson learned through the school of hard knocks. If you convert your M101A2 to a dump trailer and want to keep your Cat eye lights, do this, it is simple (that's why I didn't do it ); There are 2 bolts on the trailer frame (chanel) bracket that hold the lights, 9/16", remove the nut on...
Looking for M101A2 trailer lights, destroyed one last weekend while using trailer as a dump trailer. Will have to fabricate some sort of hinged bracket after I replace the lights. Reall want to keep the original Cat eyes.
Thanks
Bob.
On My M101A2 the steel brake line was coiled up in about 4-small circles, right at the pivot point, no problems at all. And did i push a bunch of brake fluid through it too. I hauled the trailer loaded behind my Massey TO-30 going down a 20% grade for 500', tires were locking up going down. Yes...
Thought I would share my Dump experince! Trailer worked great, hauled well over 20 loads this weekend, from my own gravel pit, down the hill to my twin natural ponds in the woods. Only bummer, was I took out the left hand side CAT light on the 1st dump. Realy impressed with the overkill and...
Ok now I'm confused (that doesn't take much) the 105 racks and bows will work? If so what needs to shorten the slates on the racks, what about the Bows?. Will the 101 racks fit the A2??? I have an NOS cover for the M101A2,
Thanks for the Help:roll:
Hey guys, I really appreciate the solid advice with the experince. I've been bitten by the GL bug, already been outbid twice a M101 trailers and stuff, now I just gotta get my wife to understand why I need this stuff.
Thanks Again
Bob.
The TM shows a sticker (which is missing from my trailer) that says Silicone Brake Fluid. But I like Frodobaggins idea about drain, flush, fill with dot 3. Does it work??? God I feel like a rookie!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell I'm not use to working on Military!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like it's DOT 5 (does that mean silicone) would be the spec brake fluid? I'm wondering if I should just use the trailer seeing the brakes are working, or if I should just go ahead and drain and clean and replace? Any Thoughts or experince!!!!!!!
Bob.
What Fluid should I use in the M101A2 Surge Brake? Hearing something about Silicone. Were should I buy the proper brake fluid as well. Brakes are working, would like to service the resivoir.
Thanks Bob.
Still looking for a set of racks and bows for M101A2 trailer. Hope someone just bought last round of trailers on GL, and might have extra set. Please let me know where else to look. Thanks
Bob.
