    Torsen Differential

In 1979 I was in school and was not old enough...to do anything, really. I did like big trucks, though and wrenched on cars with my dad!

20k Garwood winch install on a Deuce

My personal opinion is that a winch installed between the frame rails, driven hydraulically, with a cable that can be run out the front or the back, as needed, is the most versatile setup. It does not even need a level wind. The cable just has to pass between two tighter fitting pulleys that...

My M135 and a Diamond T 5 ton package purchase

I second that. I think you did very well for 2k for both trucks! They are worth that in scrap weight. The 5ton has a fiberglass top and a winch, both desirable items. There is something about the 5ton stance as well. It simply looks good, like a Deuce that has worked out and built some muscle.

Anyone ever seen the IP extension housing split in half [emoji21]

It always amazes me to see examples of the many subtile ways critical components of our trucks quit their service, ruining the owner's day!

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

Do you have a radiator shop in your area that does truck or aircraft rads? If so, it may be well worth having the rad boiled out to reveal any damaged areas and then fix it. They can put in a new core, for instance. These radiators are immensely repairable, compared to contemporary products. A...

Take care when selling your Deuce.

I feel for you! I had to put mine through an emission test where they floored it from idle to governor four times in a row. I thought I'd strangle the dude. Was useless anyway. Turns out, it indeed had emissions. Blew a solid 70 on the 100 point scale. Needs to be below 55 to pass. Another...

    Wobbly window?

This is an easy fix. You need three new parts: Window channel front Window channel rear Wiping lip across the top Before ordering, check the window regulators. If you need clips or new regulator, now is the time to order! The OEM ones are metal with a cloth lining. The new ones are plastic...

Is it hard to cross border in an old HMMWV from USA to Canada and back?

I would really like to take my Deuce to an event in the US but I am very, very reluctant to take it out of my jurisdiction. It is not only crossing the border, it is also silly things such as IFTA yes/no and commercial vs. personal registration that may work ok in my area but can raise a very...

    M275a2 Question

Is the M275 more closely related to the M342 dump truck? Similar frame length? Did they box the frame for the tractor?

    Deuce Radiator / material

I had a slight leak, took it to the rad shop, they boiled and rodded it out. That's how they discovered more holes/thin areas. Ended up re-coring the rad and fixing the tank area. Money well spent, radiator is as good as new. I'd hate to spend an afternoon brushing and soldering and then have it...

    M185A3 wannabe m756a2 project

Are these bed sides custom made for the pipeline bed or is it something that existed as original issue? The bed looks tough as nails with these sides on! I looked through your list of repairs (critical vs. nice-to-have) and the critical repairs you list is pretty much stuff every Deuce owner...
