The radio suppression capacitors were removed on my 003 but not sure on the other units I had running during Sandy. My engine broke the oil shaft on my 003 and after that I was using an 005 and the FD's 003 which I'm not sure if the capacitors are still hooked up. Thinking maybe thats what...
I have 0ne MEP 003 set up to run my house and my garage. Both bldgs have an interlok kit installed and are hard wired to an outside plug to hook up the cords. Always worked fine and only had one hiccup, the automatic garage door opener remote won't work on generator power. Once the grid was back...
I gave the VR box to a friend of mine who works on electronics. He was able to trouble shoot the VR and found R17 to be bad. He replaced it and now the gen runs great. Been outside running on the load bank for 2 hours. Not really sure what R17 does but it worked.
I did check the freq, 53htz on my tester, anymore throttle and it kills the motor. The faster you run the engine the higher the voltage goes up until it shuts down in overvoltage. Thanks
I just picked up an 005 that also has an overvoltage problem. I opened up the v/r box and there is no corrosion everything is tight and everything looks brand new including the outside of the box. Yesterday when is was looking at the gen the fault lights worked and when you brought the engine...
I had an 003 that just stopped running during Sandy. Engine was on a depot reset gen, with only 94 hours total time. When I went to restart it, got no smoke, but the engine seemed to spin over fine. Pulled the valve cover and noticed very little movement on the rockers. After some checking, I...
Airbrake & Power Equipment, Pottsville,PA 570-622-6188 makes custom Felsted cables to order. I talk to a man named Bernie and he sends the cables out within a day. They dont make the exact same cable it has a solid core, not cable like the original, but they are very flexible. The cable is ready...
The cable you bought is a universal cable with no threaded end just a solid cable. The kit fron Green Mtn will give you the threaded end you need for the clevis that attaches to the governor arm. You will also have to make a holder for the cable at the gov end. By the time your done it will...
Check the starter cut out switch. Jump it at the plug by the oil filter, if it cranks after that then clean the contacts on the switch. The contacts are behind the cover on the right of the oil filter.
Did you check the operation of the shut off solenoid? Make sure it is working properly or no fuel will get into pump. The plastic heim ends are problematic and sometimes break. Also you can apply 24 volts directly to the solenoid and work it up and down to free it up and check operation, be sure...
Try Aircraft Spruce for Facet replacement pumps. I have gotten some Airtex 24volt fuel pumps at Rock Auto and they seem fine, just have to use some adapters or change fuel line. Also the gen will work just fine with one pump, or if you never plan on using the aux fuel option you can use that...
Generator build I have been working on this a while and now its up and running. Took an old frame, a rebuilt 003 engine I won, and then added some new modern parts. This is a 16kw stamford type generator with a solid state AVR. Only single phase but puts out 240volts...
I'll try to dig up where i got from my old Amex bills tomorrow, there are ac wires that go to the transducer and dc coming out. I just spliced them together took the transducer out of the box and used the same wires that were on the old htz meter to connect the new one. works great
