I have one of Teds $15 Solargizers on my m35. With new batteries and an isolator it is holding at 25.47 v. I am planning on adding a second solargizer and continuing to monitor it this winter.
Not sure I followed all of that.
On an m35a2 all LDT's are the engine and engine end of the bell housing are SAE 2? With minor variations?
And the tranny end of bell housing and tranny SAE 3?
RE: How do you do it?
The TM says 325-350 ft-lbs. The appropriate torque wrench starts at a couple hundred bucks. I got an earthquake 3/4 from harbor freight to get them off. I also talked to several exmil deuce mechanics who said they torque them to 150 ft-lbs and have been doing so for...
One of the best things about the 5 ton axles is the availability and prices of wide and combat rims for
the supersingles.
Making or buying duece wide rims is expensive or time consuming and a possible issue with CDOT. If I had the choice I would go with the 5 ton axles mainly...
Bjorn,
I will try locating a Izuzu Trooper tank, thanks. Most junk yards in Colorado don't want to sell you a used anymore. Is that the same in other states?
I pulled my m37 gas tank yesterday to clean it and it is so rusty and has been patched so many times I decided I need to replace it.
I checked my vpw catalog and they don't list a replacement tank. Does anyone else make one? It does not have to be stock as the rest of the drive train was...

Jim,
Thanks thats what I needed to know. I also found a part number for it. It is 80314 Clevis hardware kit.
Sermis,
I tried to get hold of Arthur Bloom several times with no luck. Thats why I bought the kit from Boyce.

I installed most of the Air-o-matic steering assist yesterday but seem to be missing one or 2 items and have no pictures showing these parts or a completed install. I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for.
I am missing the bolt and bushings that let the air assist cylinder...
Has anyone compared the mileage with the overdrive spicer trans?
I'm in the same boat as David. I don't put that many miles on my deuce so, when I do the math to see how much I really save, most mileage upgrades aren't economical unless they also serve another purpose. Like ARB air lockers or...
Eastern Surplus has a pto accessory hydraulic pump (one direction) I believe it comes off the rear of the pto so you can still use the front facing pto drive.
It looks like you could make 10" longer vertical pieces for the bow set to make it fit.
Then I could just stand up in the back of the deuce!!
Do they make a version that is 10 or 12 ft long?
Has anyone tried a better flowing air cleaner and ram air? Since the increased air flow is really only needed for pulling hills at higher speeds ram air might be very effective for little money. Or is the real limatation in the head?
At my altitude 9400 ft lack of air is alway the biggest...
