We actually had truck frames rust enough in WI that the truck would permenantly sag in the middle and crack. I would check for cracks, depth of pitting, and badly rusted bolts. Some of that orange may be from caustic mud causing surface rust. I have seen that on several m35's but don't know...
To bad you are so far away. I've been looking to trade my m35a2w/w for a m275a2w/w. Right now I am planning on selling or trading the bed. In March?? there was a m275a2 that had a m35 bed added. It did not look to bad.
RE: Re: RE: Deuce Air System vs 3/4" Impact Wrench
Bottleworks, Sorry I missed the link. Torque stick is what I had in mind. I will call them and see if they have the Budd app in a 3/4. I could use a 1 inch with adapter too. Don't think I will find a good torque wrench for twice that price.
RE: Re: RE: Deuce Air System vs 3/4" Impact Wrench
I believe it is called a torque bar (have not found torque stick ref) they are colored for different torque ranges. I believe they flex when you reach the specified torque. This allows you to use an impact to torque down lug nuts without...
I still like the air pig idea for volume and will probably do it with my extra tanks. But will also try the glad hand.
Does any one worry about lug torques (325-350 ft lbs)?
Where do you find a inexpensive 350 ft lb torque bar or wrench?
I have a m35a2 rust free bed with camo 1 piece top and troop seats with the composite boards (need a couple more for the side rails).
What is it worth? Am I better off to try and trade for a flat bed?
It is still on the truck and would have to be removed or delivered a short distance.
I should...
Air volume is a problem on my deuce also. I've got an old gas powered compressor and am trying to decide whether to use just the tanks to add volume to the truck system or figure out a way to hook the compressor to a pto. The gas motor on the compressor is real hard to start or restart.
Keep in mind that with a multifuel engine and a winch, the front axle loads are way beyond what the Reo designers originally planned on. Not to say it can't handle it, but adding a plow to boot - might get interesting.

Matt,
Almost every non-commercial plow application overloads the...
The wings don't hold up well out here. There are to many boulders, narrow roadcuts, and trees.
You are probably right about staying away from the large highway plows but I already have a little 8 ft Meyers heavy duty on my M37. The M37 wasn't big enough for several snows last year. I only...

10ft is a bit puny for a truck the size of a duece. How about a real plow. Easy to find a used municipal snow plow in 11-12ft range.
Anything much bigger than 10-11 ft gets hard to manuver in a driveway and on narrow dirt roads with steep...
I tried a search but did not find much. Other than a stock deuce plow setup, has anyone found a relatively easy to mount civilian plow and mount combo that fits the M35a2 w/w? I am looking for about a 10 ft plow and hopefully the attachments to put it on the deuce with.
If I start now I will...
Arctic camo only looks really good on a Gama Goat or Husky.
Why not put Rhino Liner on the outside? There are lots of colors and nice texture.
I have been thinking about using Rhino Liner on the outside of a real rough m37.
It seems like that is the most likely reason. You see scuffing on the cylinder and lower piston skirt especially on stroked gas motors. A ring lower down on the piston would probably help alignment of the piston.
