    4th Semi-Annual Texas MV Rally

We don't seem to have people signing up like crazy with just 16 days to go. We might actually be losing people. That means the cost per person is going to stay pretty darn high. Or go higher. Jennifer totalled our family Suburban last week. She is about back to healthy again. But, that...

do all CUCV's drain their batteries?

Same here. That light switch is always on. Since he "lightly" charged the front battery and then jump started off the rear battery, I would think the rear battery is faulty. Did you load test them both since the troubles?

    That is a cool display.

    Good to hear.

is there a difference in tire flaps?

When these two piece rims are put together. The tire sits around everything except the front lock ring. I have always heard that called the can and call it that myself. Coats makes tire lube in 5 pound buckets. Great stuff.

is there a difference in tire flaps?

I thought this thread was about mud flaps too. There are 3 different M35 mud flap structures by the way. Hinged at the bottom on the old Gassers. Normal and then the cut out sides on the drop side bed trucks. I will second the deal about tube flaps being very important. Smearing them with...

    M1010 Home Again

Those panels look really good Mark. I told you not to pull the ladder out....

    USAF Ground Vehicle Registration Numbers

I have to continue my number sequence already started. My M715 was supposed to be 900513. I messed up the order of the numbers and got 900523. So, my Gasser M35 got 900513. Whistler M35 is 900514. M105 -900515. M105-900516. M101-900517. M1009-900518. All these are already registered legally with...

How to get my 6.2 to run more smoothly?

Unless fuel is squirting out on every pulse, that probably isn't your rough idle problem. Yes, it should be fixed. I still think you will need a new injection pump to make it right.

    USAF Ground Vehicle Registration Numbers

I will have to look at the data plate.

    Sticking a 6.2 in a sheetmetal box

6.2 timing seems to be one of those voodoo areas that everybody has a theory, but no hard evidence. I really don't know if engine life will be effected one way or the other. I just know I put a new IP on my 1009 Friday. The old IP was just a hair advanced past the line and not obnoxiously...

    USAF Ground Vehicle Registration Numbers

Thanks for posting the manuals and pictures. I am about to redo the 1984 USAF Suburban and needed to know how to put markings on it. I guess it would be a "B"?

    Sticking a 6.2 in a sheetmetal box

I know this is almost an apples to oranges comparison, but I think it will help. My 1952 M35 Gasser with the stock REO OA331 and a muffler with the tail pipe out the back between the duals is hardly heard when sitting still. Above 30 mph or so, it is just as loud as my M35A2 multifuel with...

    M1010 Home Again

Glad you made it home ok. How did it run down the road with the new IP?

    Both gen lights not working

What about the 6 legged ground wire at the top of the parking brake bracket? That ground has a part in just about everything electrical under the dash. The filament in the ALT lights has to conduct electricity for the exciter wires to work. That doesn't always mean the lights will glow.

    Need alternator help fast

I would suggest looking in the -20 manual trouble shooting section and following the steps. Seems like you already figured out the truck side of the wiring seems ok. How did you figure the diode Trio was good without taking the diode Trio out and checking resistance on each arm? That is...

    Sunday winching gone wrong...

Good idea on the white paint Tom. Thanks for the tip.

    Working on the M37

Another tip probably a day too late. Put a rubber glove over your paint cup cap. No matter how carefull you are, that little vent will get paint on it. Murphy's Law says that collected paint will then drip right in the middle of the biggest surface you are painting. If you hold a rag over...

Looking good Mark. Wear long sleeves unless you like the crusty feeling on your arms.
