The red wire on the plug you pulled off is what carries the voltage back to the battery. The brown wire is the exciter wire. Put a volt meter probe on that red wire at the plug with the engine running and everything plugged in. If it is 14.4 there, making sure you ground the volt meter to the...
WOW! I got the call on the 1028 problems and just figured the rest of the trip was simple. I am kind of glad you didn't call me at 0330, but also feel bad I couldn't help now that I have read the rest of the story.
Where did you buy your fuel Sam? Just so I will know where not to stop.
Once you read the manual as suggested above. You will find that past F is normally what happens when there is no ground or a break in the wire going to the back. E is normally no power to the gauge itself or a grounded sender wire. Many threads have been made about this.
I put one of the "drill a hole, screw in hollow bolt and then screw in drain plug" B&M kits a year or so ago. Make sure you have the white washer on the inside and that you tighten it up real tight. Sure is easy to change fluid now.
Follow the advice in the post above.
The needle on the volt meter should be near the little hash mark in the middle of the green section when running. If yours is on the line between yellow and green, but more in the yellow than green area, you don't have both alternators working. As pointed...
Good find on the new front seats.
Yes, I will be at Temple. My 396 threw a rod a month or so ago. So it will just be the M35A2 for showing and camping in. Come on up and stay or at least visit.
There has been a 1008 off US90 off and on in Sabinal for about 6 years now. It is probably that one since the town has like 4 houses. New paint job though. I drive through there every year or two.
I would be very suspicious of the 24-12 conversion wiring. You are probably going to be...
A lot of us or close to Cedar Park. The montly meeting was just last week, but come on out to Camp Mabry next month and you will meet about dozen members of this forum and see all kinds of vehicles.
Lone Star MVPA - Welcome!
Or, come join is in Temple a week or so from now at the air show.
Oh and I don't want to see any of the hi beams you guys are talking about at Temple next week from anybody. Except of course, the Heinikan girls like every year at Temple.
Same, check the fuse panel for any loose fuses. Then check above the column for the actual hi beam switch. Make sure the plug is secure. If that doesn't work, pull the plug and hot wire the lights to verify the problem is there and not under the hood somewhere. Brown is power in, yellow is...
Looks like a fun time Timothy. Are the rear set of seats new? I like that.
Put a lawn sprinkler under the truck and keep moving it around every few hours to help get all the gunk out from underneath.
I love the roadster doors on the M715. Lots more air in the summer and great visibility on the trails. However, as pointed out above. Stuff does tend to land on my left thigh. I got stuck behind a garbage truck on I-410 around San Antonio a few years ago. Some kind of really nasty smelling...
The best manual controller for a 6.2 glow plug system I have ever heard of is this: 8 second switch for police shot gun racks in police cars. Sermis installed one on his M725 when he put in the 6.2. It works great. Push the button, 8 seconds later it turns off and the plugs have done their...
It was getting expensive to feed Mark. However, the window in the side of the oil pan made the decision for me.
Sorry I can't make the meeting tonight or the event this weekend. Scouts is keeping me very busy. I will be at Temple though.
I don't think I ever even crawled under the M1010...
The direct drive 27MT was American made. The reduction gear 28MT was originally from Korea and now China.
I have had two 27MT failures. The first time I had just gotten the truck and didn't know the glow plug card was not working right. I thought it was normal for 5-10 seconds of cranking...
