    cucv voltage drop

Do all listed above and check the ground wire bolted to the top of the parking brake pedal.

    Hello from Texas

Cool, just 30 miles away. I couldn't make the Smithville event because I was in a parade and air port show here in Giddings last weekend. Driving the M35 down the hill into Smithville from Serbin is always a real thrill.

    Hello from Texas

Where in Texas are you and which Buc-ee's did you get the picture from? I am sitting about 1 mile from the one on 290 in Giddings right now. Welcome to the fun by the way. Which MVPA group?

No, that is not a common modification.

    Fender removal

Spray the nuts going into the cab with some kind of penetrating oil before you try taking them off. Those captured nuts in there are real hard to get at when you have to replace a broken bolt or spinning nut. Here is a thread I did way back when about them...

Gen 2 light off then on

When you swap out the starter relay, put a volt meter on the purple with white stripe wire. Turn the key to start and see if you get 12 volts on that wire. It sure reads to me as if your ignition switch isn't adjusted correctly or is just bad. Fix the starter issues first. Then the glow...

    Things done wrong

I was going to do the ratchet strap idea when we first noticed how wide it was. I didn't because right now it fits and doesn't rub against anything. Gasser don't shake near as much as a multifuel, but they still aren't the smoothest vehicle going down the road. I figured the more distance...

    M101A2 spare tire mount

TSC sells clamp on boat trailer front jack stands with wheels on them for around $30.00. I spent maybe 10 minutes mounting mine and love the ability to roll the trailer around without picking it up. The folded up stock landing leg is now a great 5 gallon water jug holder.

That looks very interesting Tom. Thanks for the pictures. I won't have all the pieces together for a replacement engine until August or so. I will pull it apart and try to figure out what killed the 396 then. Pictures and a full write up to follow in a few months.

    M105 Cattle Trailer??

Call down to the Elgin Vet or the vet over in Lexington. They will know who might be willing to sell just a few calves and can drop them off at your place.

6.2 engine still? Just buy a clutch for a 1985 K30 truck at your local auto parts store. That is the 4 speed out of a K30 you have in the back already, right?

    OKC to Temple TX Airshow

That is his truck. He replaced the engine a few weeks ago after it has sat for a year or more. He pulled the winch to put on his bobbed M35. That gun ring was tan Friday afternoon. Him and his boys went to Lowes on the way to the air show, bought green paint, sprayed it in the parking lot...

    Things done wrong

Hmm, got a text last night from the fair people saying my trucks could not be used in any way shape or form due to insurance reasons. Then a text from the airport people wanting my trucks as part of a static display. No AVGAS. Oh well. I didn't get the hood numbers on either. We actually...

Where do you work at now Tom? R2800's must be nice to listen to every day.

    What should come on?

The -10 manual for the CUCV trucks tells you what lights up when you turn on the key. Some trucks have had the seat belt buzzer removed, broken or just missing. The dome light is only activated by the head light switch knob twisting counter clockwise. The only dome light is the one under the...

    Things done wrong

I have been talked into using both running Dueces to haul people between the airport and the fairgrounds this weekend. The powers that be in the city want to do an Armed forces day fly over, flag ceremony and taps at the airport. Meanwhile, the county fair is going on 2 miles away. No parking...

    Things done wrong

I got my Gasser M35's in 2006. Spent most of 2007 and 2008 building one solid good truck out of 2-1/2 trucks. The frame and all body work except the hood and bed were all done by May 2008. I found a straight rust free hood in February 2009. Thanks Warthog. I had to sand and paint it. By...

    Speedometer 15 MPH off

The bouncing needle is almost always a result of a bad cable or bent cable housing. LMC has brand new 1984 K5 blazer cables for not much money. 2 tie down bolts, a clip behind the dash, the screw at the transfer case and a single firewall grommet push through are all that are involved in the...

Yes, It sure seems like an alternator issue.

    Leaky Fuel Injectors

Pull it apart, clean with a lint free rag, put it back on, repeat until it doesn't leak any more. It could take a while.
