Yeah I bought new hose, sleeves, and inserts.
The two lines from the filters to the HH and the injector return to the IP had the inserts in them. But I will check them all though.
Appreciate the advice guys!
For reference:
Nuts attaching injector tubes to HH: 23-25 ft lbs (TM9-2320-209-34-2-1 and TM9-2320-361-24-1)
Nuts attaching the injector tubes to the injectors: 23-25 ft lbs (TM9-2320-361-24-1)
Hydraulic head nuts (attaching the HH to the IP): 18-20 ft lbs (TM9-2910-226-34)

Some of the kits I've seen include a cap for the vent tube. From what I can gather, the master cylinder vent line can terminate in a couple of different places. One of which could be the fuel vent line (which is bad.)
I intend to remove mine from wherever it terminates if I can get to it...
That makes sense.
Well let's hope I'm not pulling it apart again tonight. This is going to bug me until I see it running (well) again.
Appreciate you guys teaching me stuff. There's a lot in the TMs, but there's a LOT that's not in the TMs.
HH is back in with new o rings. The ports where the lines attach were rusty and dirty. I attached a brass 12ga shotgun bore brush to my drill and cleaned them up. Washed them out with carburetor spray.
Still need to do a few odds and ends but that'll have to wait for tomorrow after work...
When the transmission is in a forward gear, which way does the jackshaft turn?
Trying to figure out which way to turn it so that I'm turning the engine the direction it goes in when it's running.
That's what I'ma gonna do. The TM calls for a gasket .020 thick, which is a replacement for one .031 thick.. So I'm buying some 1/32 Karropak from o'Reilly.
It also calls for the equivalent of Permatex #3 gasket sealer. But I want to be able to get it apart again, so I'm going with something...
After reading this thread, I've come to the conclusion that the Busted Knuckle is going to have to have a gun ring.
Which means a hard top, I imagine. The War Department is not going to be happy about this.
You guys are a bad influence.
The gasket for the fuel shutoff cover (I think it's official name might be the timing window cover) looks like some kind of wire mesh.
Mine needs replacing (broke). What material do you guys use for those? It looks like I could get one from Oshkosh but I'd rather not pay 10 bucks +...
So I got the hh off... Quite the adventure. Mine wouldn't come out with the red/scored tooth lined up with the mark. So I experimented and finally got it out by moving the red tooth just forward of the mark, so the mark was pointing at the valley just behind the red tooth.

So I got home, unbolted the heater and got it out of the way, marked and removed the injector lines from the hh.. and it dumped down rain.
Covered the hh and buttoned her up till tomorrow. [emoji35]
For others interested in installing a remote brake reservoir, this link is no longer good.

LOL asking the mv addicts whether to buy another mv or not may not result in the most unbiased of opinions!
(If it was me and my deuce didn't need anything major, heck yeah I'd buy it!)
