Ok, I will test em. Strange though, as they only have 200 miles on them. Truck has been sitting on a base for 8 years though, so things are bound to happen with that long period of non-use. If glow plugs test fine, I was thinking it could be a wiring short or something like that...
Just noticed a new problem on the Humvee. When switching from stop to run on a cold morning, the Glow Plug Wait Light just flashes quickly, whereas before it would stay lit for a few seconds, until the plugs were warmed up. I wait several seconds anyway, and the truck starts up fine, but am...
I am looking for someone who can make a run from Antioch, CA to Saratoga Springs, Utah. The item is less than 500lbs and just needs to be secured on a flatbed (HMMWV Hardtop Roof Kit). Send me a PM if you can make the run in the next few weeks. Thanks!
Interesting... So I took the 200lb wheel & tire to five major tire shops in my area to find out if I can (and should) reverse the tread, some national chains. Four of them said they can't do it. Some said it'll break their equipment. One (Quality Tire, who mainly does commercial tires) said they...
Nice truck. So if there is no directional arrow on the sidewall, is it safe to say they're non-directional?
In your reference picture, the tire tread is pointed in opposite directions, which is actually how I see most of the HMMWV's. Driver side pointing toward the rear and passenger toward...
HMMWV Tires - Directional or Non-Directional?
Hello,
Humvee tires are described often as non-directional, but they have the tread points going in one direction. Are they still non-directional, even though the points could face different directions?
Hey fellas.
I'm installing some supplemental armored doors on a HMMWV that previously had soft doors. The stock hinges seem flimsy with these heavy doors. Are there sturdier hinges available? I haven't been successful in finding any in the TMs.
They mount and close well, but don't seal up...
I just called Optima and asked for advice. They told me the Yellow-top D34 are dual purpose - designed for starting and deep cycles. I asked about warranty and they said it's 36-months, whether used for starting or not. I'll proceed with getting those, under the assumption that 750 CCA's are...
Makes sense, thanks. I'm leaning toward the deep-cycle as well due to the frequent draining and charging cycles. I was just concerned about the lower CCAs.
