I too have diconnected my flame heater due to a leak. I will tackle it this summer, rebuild or replace.............Has anyone used the new style sold by Memphis Equipment??????
Its a Kats 1500 watt #13150.............The cheapest place I could find them was on Amazon. Tractor supply has them although I don't know if they stock the 1500 watt model.
Installed a circulating tank style block heater on the deuce and it works great. After plugged in for only two hours the heater hoses, intake, and top radiator tank were already pretty warm.
I mounted the tank to the pass side frame rail with the mount in the kit after tweaking it with a 180 deg...

Took the deuce for a good run today and had no leaks from the adapters although the temp here wasn't super low. When the temp drops super low again maybe I'll try again. [thumbzup]
I had the leaking adapter problem this summer. I replaced the paper gaskets and made sure everything was super clean. No leaks so far but now that it is cold, like everyone has said it might start again. I will be driving it tomorrow if I have leaks I will report back.

I agree........When I installed my heater it was surplus, in the box, and never opened. But when I pulled the heater box out of the container the heater core lines were badly damaged, bent over and flatened. I imagine the container was dropped at one time. Any way, I took it to a local radiator...
