    I remember there were some armored suburbans at the DRMO here. We submitted the paperwork for a transfer but it wasnt submitted in time...They ended up at a gunnery range as targets for aircraft. The price on them was $100,000 each back then. Too bad they were fully armored, had 454 engines...

    Sounds interesting. You could put a MFJ 269c analyzer on it and see what the SWR is on the different bands (no 800)

    Ive got a similar set up an 800 orion and a EVA with a MRK (2 meters or 440) on my M1008 Ive got 2 Orions on my other truck with a single control head (800 and UHF) Im going to add a 10 meter rig to my M1008

    A lot of those used Motorola or GE mikes because they interphased with the two way radio. If you can find a 4 pin mike try it in the socket

    I guess I can try grounding the negative alt terminal to the frame and see if the whine goes away.... Anyone see a problem with that?
