    Airbornebandsman's M109 Conversion

Well, got the front cover off. And of course whoever had the truck last loved RTV silicone as it is all over, so when the front cover came off it took part of the oil pan gasket with it. After replacing the seal and getting off the old gasket and sealant, I discoved that the kit I bought didn't...

PCS from Las Vegas, NV to FT. Sam Houston, TX

Ok, an update. The plan is to drive the route in the first post. Stop in Gallup, NM the first night. Carlsbad, NM the second and end in San Antonio the third. That's about 430 Miles (9.5 hours of driving)a day, so it shouldn't be too bad. Now on to the repairs. Got the front cover off, but...

    Airbornebandsman's M109 Conversion

Ok, from what my mechanic friend told me, it is probably just the gasket around the front cover. Will start taking it apart tonight.

    Airbornebandsman's M109 Conversion

I don't know about anybody else, but to me SilverState55 has some superhuman determination. I don't think anyone else could have done nearly as much in such a short amount of time as he has. I can only hope that I have as much drive as I get older, at 29 I can't keep up with him. The night...

Just bought a MTV M1094 LVAD

If my memory serves me correct the 2x6's are for palletizing the truck prior to an airdrop. (I was in the 618th (LE)(ABN) Eng Co. 82nd ABN DIV for 6 Months back in 2002). I used to have a picture of a dump and front loader that burned in, I will try and find and post them. Have fun with it.

I will be at Ft. Sam Houston around the 20th of July for the next three years and could probably make my way up there every couple weeks or so. (I hope)

    Airbornebandsman's M109 Conversion

Amazing work by Silverstate55. I left for 3 hrs, came back and the brackets were done, they look great. Once again thanks for all the hard work. I am learning alot by watching you work and hope to put it into practice myself over the years.

How to load an M105 in/on an M35

When I moved cross-country, I rolled it in backwards (pintle to the rear) with a loading ramp. When I unloaded it, I found another ramp and pulled it out, backed the truck onto the ramp, hooked up and left. I also had E-track installed in my truck bed at the time, which is what I used to hold...

M109 convoy plate (delineation plate) placement

I put them on there as an added safety device. Haven't been rear ended yet. Lol. Nice try, but they will be on the truck one way or another.

M109 convoy plate (delineation plate) placement

For all you M109 owners. I am wondering where you put the delineation plates on your truck. Fenders or van body. Any pics or suggenstions would be helpful. Thanks. Pic: where they were installed on my truck before the cargo bed was scrapped.

    Airbornebandsman's M109 Conversion

Warren, Thanks for all the help and time you have put into this project. And the malfunction was my fault entirely. As it was my detail it was my responsibility to make sure everything was secured properly, and as you hadn't used tiedowns like that before I should have done my job better. I got...

    Airbornebandsman's M109 Conversion

First I want to thank Warren (Silverstate55) for all the help he has given me so far. He has gone above and beyond in helping me. I had no idea how this box was getting here until he volunteered his time and equipment. And he is helping me with the box repairs as well, among other things. I...

let's see your military radio collection....

I have an AN/GRC 160 mounted in my M35A2. (not working, but it has all the wiring, etc, not sure what is wrong with it) I mounted it to the trans hump using part of a bumper and the back of the bench seat.
