Since you guys are talking about alt fuels in the generators I'd like to ask about the 003a and the 004a sets. I know between them is a jump in power, design and engines but can the 004a run on wvo/umo or even biodiesel? From my reading the 004 and 005 are very similar but the 005 uses more fuel...
Really strange. Not sure if the difference of using sodium hydroxide vs potasium hydroxide in the biodiesel process would create this issue? All being from the same source is weird as well.
I have never heard of that before. I know the solvent effect plays **** on older systems and brings the dino doodoo all to the filters but these sounds like never trucks. Must be something specific to that "lining". Maybe some kind of aftermarket tank would be an option?
Could you just store the WVO that you have filtered to a point to get out the water adn crap and just store that until you are ready to make a batch of biodiesel?
Would that be a better plan?
Good point, considering it should be about $30-$40 for the balancer I may as well do it since I plan to drive this allot. Had one go out on a 85 gas K5 and sounded like it was coming apart while it ate the key and keyway on the snout! Thanks for the advice.
Small oil leak from under the harmonic balancer where the crossmember is nice and juicy with oil buildup and sludge.. Almost seems it is coming from the oil pan gasket? Maybe try and tighten the bolts a touch and see if that takes care of it.
A/c update. Waiting for NAP to get the correct...
 pure champion stuff young! Look forward to some pics. I am currently inundated with some deuce IP issues, 12v Elec setup and a small oil leak on the M1009 seemingly from the oil pan gasket.. Fml.. But all doable fixes and cheap, just time.. What is your projected yield in gallons of oil...
Just went and looked at the lever. I see the o ring that is all the way against the base of the shaft. Now I can do all three. Thank you very much. Hopefully not hijacking this since it is the same problem the OP had.
I have my hydraulic head off at the moment to correct this same problem. I can see the two larger o rings but is the their one in the fuel shutoff? And along with the two #'s gimp posted what is the third o ring part #? Should these be swapped with viton ones instead?
Raaawwrrr!!! Thank god I finally got this B out! Thanks for your help on that Horst, who knows what kind of stuff I would be ordering otherwise:shock:!
Here is where I am now. I took the side bolt ut before pulling it and caught that little metal part, phew! I'm going to get the fuel lines off...
Awesome! Thanks so much for the help. I guess I was stumped since I was also putting on my 12V alt and had those belts loose. I'll tighten them up so I can spin it over.
Jesus what a pain the HH is. Most of my injector lines won't come off the HH so they are coming with it. Have em disconnected from the injectors and ready to go and I have the small plate off in front of the HH to line up the marks and I am gettign to the one under the shutoff cover where the...
Great info guys. I am looking into this as I also have fuel going into my oil from somewhere. My FDC was already bypassed so another member "Horst" suggested the HH o-ring as another place to check.
Seth - Looing forward to your results
Ramcatdoc - I have the same side mount on my 1009 and just got my AB15 base in. I saw you have a plate that the ab15 mounts to that mounts to the truck mount. Where did you get that plate or did you fab one up?
Painting my 12V alt bracket now. Then work on install later.
Parallel project: Trying to sniff out the source of all the fuel in the oil I learned my FDC was already bypassed. I know that can be a source for this if not funtioning properly. Now I am a little stumped on where else it can be...
