It may have had the turbo changed to d model....i would pull yhe boot off of the intake side and make sure the fins turn freely inside the turbo...if they turn with no binding then it probably has had a d turbo put on it...also while you have it open check to make sure there is not excessive oil...
When mine was making noise it also started leaking a little worse around all the gaskets.I also found metal in the oil.....not saying this is your problem but the dueces have a little flaw of not having the gears ride on rollerbearings on the shaft....second gear in mine was the culprit....it...
That is cool...pun intended....nice work...the only thing i can see is you going to need a rear brace for the compressor...so it won't shake and break the bracket.....
I was thinking of putting my evaporator in the heater box under the hood..then just using duct insulation to wrap everything up.
If your lucky you can get one for about 500 bucks.....most of them are about 1,000 bucks and then there are those that you will need to get financing aua
most diesel shops can test the nozzles....we have tester..it uses a manual hand pump like a bottle jack pump assembly..basically you hook a fuel line up to the nozzle and check that it's not seeping fuel...that it only opens at certain pressures...and spray pattern out of the nozzle....
